If You Could Only Use 2 Lures For A Day, What 2 Lures? Softbaits Are Ok To Pick In This Game.

I just want everyone to be prepared for the day they are a co-angler and you draw the dreaded "you can only bring 2 lures on my boat" Partner, and  and when it happens, you only get 30 seconds to pick them out as well.

I know guys get tired of the 1 lure threads, so I figured I would throw a curve ball, we should do one on if you could only bring one size weight as well, what would you choose? I say 5/16.

I'm going to try to answer these all differently until April.

Slither K in shooting star

7" Alewife Slug-Go SS twistlocked T-rig style onto a #3 Trokar EWG Mag hook.

No matter what I'm into the most at the time, it will always boil down to a reaction bait and a slow moving bait. Right now it would have to be a 3/8 oz chatterbait and a 1/2 oz arky jig.

Sounds like a mutiny going to happen to me..

4" finesse worm

Small crankbait, to be determined by the boater jerk...

Well we just had "One Lure" thread a little farther down and my answer was plastic...

2 ? OK, a Skinny Dipper and soft plastic.

Trixie Shark, watermelon red and 3/8 oz white spinner bait.

I would most likely leave and not deal with that a-hole but if we are just trying to start another 2 lure or 3 lure list here is mine.

Spinnerbait and senko.

Jig and a bladed jig.

These "pick your lure" threads are getting annoying and I doubt I am going to be told to only pick 2 lures to use all day as a co angler.

In the time it took to type that you could have responded with an answer or find a more productive thread for you.

Side note, I've had a boater in a BFL tournament cut my tackle in half including combos because he "didn't see the need".

No dumb questions out there... Only dumb answers.

I was kind of joking, but I had a boater tell me 2 rods, one bag (which is fair) but I usually bring 4 as co-angler, 5 with a buddy, but I think 3 is all I wanted to do that day anyhow. I asked if we were flipping all day since I didnt want to get stuck with a broomstick throwing a plastic worm all day, and a medium action spinning rod for topwaters and jerkbaits is a must for me and even shallow cranking as I have more control especially when it gets windy, and I always figure I may need to tie on a 3" grub or tube and finesse em or start throwing a beetle spin, but a Medium Heavy Baitcasting rod, and spinning rod is actually good because you are not temped to change rods and lures more than you should, I have to really focus on staying at the task at hand, I always want to try something I have never done before in tournaments for some reason, I think because I shop before I go, and always grab the newest stuff, now I stick to the basics and I really only fish 3-4 baits or lures.....

Being a co-angler helps you get better super fast, same as a club, you realize how everyone has odd things they do but I have always had good people who helped me out if I was struggling, so as long as you dont step on seats with muddy boots all usually starts off well.

Never understood why a boater cares what you bring. It's not like he's back there fishing with you. I don't care what a partner brings, as long as it fits. They get a dry storage bin behind their seat, and rods get strapped in next to them.

All I care about is when I give the 5 minutes and we're moving call, they're ready.

I totally agree.
