A guy has offered to sell me one of the older Cabela's Super Magnum Tackle bags for $50. It comes with ten Plano boxes. It's not one of the newest models, maybe a year or two old. My question's are;

Is this a good deal considering it's moderately used?

Should I hold out and just get a $40-$60 one brand new somewhere else?

I don't have much need for a full sized tackle bag right now. I could store everything I own in probably six or seven Plano boxes.

That is a good deal in my opinion. I have the magnum with 6 boxes and I think I paid a little more than that. The super is a monster, and they are great bags. Well built and made to carry almost anything you can throw at it.

Get it while you can, but beware. If you don't have enough tackle to fill the boxes... you will be another victim of the bait monkey, and you can check in with the rest of us addicts in the bait monkey form.

ten plano boxes are more than $50 alone.

I know I was going to say that. They really bend you over on the price for fishing boxes. I think they should be way cheaper then they are.

I'd go for it, that's a great price. Plano boxes are invaluable for storage.

I bought a gander mountain brand on sale for $40. Main compartment will hold 10 3701s. And has lots of pockets for other stuff.

I should add that it came with 4 3600 or 3700 boxes, but I swapped them out because I like the low profile boxes more.
