Hello all, never formally imtroduced myself. Used to post periodically here and loved the site. Great people lots of great information. Due to a cervical spine injury I am unfortunately preparing to sell all of my fishing gear. I habe not bought/sold in the market here, so I plan to sell off cheaper termnal tackle, soft plastics, etc. To build some kind of positive reputation as a seller in the market.

I will also be unloading many bait casters, shimano spinning reels, progressing to gloomis, abu, shimano, and Duckett rods. I aim to price it all to move fairly quickly.

I was not sure where to post this, but I figure it would help my cause a bit to get active in the forums so I started here. I will admit it pains me to surf the forums, because for the time being im no longer able to enjoy my passion. Anyway tight lines folks hopefully ill seeya around in the market.

Also, can anyone provide me with a link regarding exactly how folks ship used rods on here? Thnks in advance

Sorry to hear that Goose. Are you sure selling all your gear is something you want to do? Even if I was hurt bad I'd want to hold onto it to have something to look forward to and keep me motivated during the healing process. Not judging or trying to talk you out of doing what you need/want to do.

Hey bluebasser I always really enjoyed reading your fishing reports out there in the KC area and abroad!

That is a fair question. Short answer, I have battled my disc issue through physical therapy and the works for about 3 years now. If im honest though I am at peace with this decision at this point so no worries and the neck is doing better, pain is definitely manageable in day to day life now so I take gratitude in that for sure. Work instability contributed as well and I could use a little cushion while paying bills from holiday season.

I have some good gear with a lot of life left in it that just screams for a workout so Id prefer to pass it along to some folks who will take advantage of it. Like I told my old lady, one day down the line I'll be back but for the forseable future I feel this is a sound decision.

Have a good day everyone! Stay warm here in the chilly midwest I think old man winter may be here to stay for a while this time. Wont complain though because the wearher has been great so far.

Goose21......may I ask where you are from?  I ask only because I've suffered from spinal degeneration for my entire life.  About 5 years ago, it got so bad I resigned myself to a life of pain and being hooked on painkillers.  Suicide was an option, as well.  I went from doctor to doctor only to be told that nothing could be done.  There was too much damage.  I even asked them to paralyze me from the waist down .  I could barely walk anyway and was in constant crippling pain.  Finally, I was referred to KU Med in Kansas City where I saw a Doctor (Dr. Douglas Burton) that took one look  at my MRI's and said "Oh sure.....I do these surgeries all the time.  I can help you".  Long story short, he fixed me.  I live now with relatively little pain (Advil) and am completely free of prescription meds for the first time in 30 years.  (I'm 47).  I'm not saying don't sell your stuff.  Only you can make that decision, but I can tell you that the idea of fishing, being outside, and all the other things that most people have the luxury of taking for granted, kept me going when the pain and misery were almost overwhelming.  FYI...I referred my Father in Law to Dr. Burton and he got relief from neck pain/headaches that he had suffered from for 50 years.  Keep the faith, Brother, and don't give up hope.
