adam32 Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 The Sustain also has an aluminum body, while the FJ has a graphite body over an aluminum frame. Here's a link that shows the graphite body on a sustain. http://www.stripersonline.com/t/883551/taking-apart-a-shimano-sustain-10000-fg-question Quote
Patrick Morrow Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 I have used CI4+ and dare to recommend it. It actually feels light between hands and at first impression weak, but version 2500 lasted well and I had no problems with any bass I caught. Quote

Dypsis Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 It's nice and light (which was important to me) and obviously since its fresh out of the box super smooth. I really like the silver and black - although I know it doesn't affect its ability to catch fish but an added bonus. My only potential worry is line capacity - it only lists 2lb/153yds and 3lb/109yds. I will most likely put 8lb floro on it and will have to see what it holds. I've only had it a few hours but first impressions like you said seems like a great reel. Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted January 13, 2015 Super User Posted January 13, 2015 Color is pretty inportant when the rod you plan on building doesnt play into the red scheme of a CI4. I only put 50 yards of braid on my reels, so capacity isn't that important to me. I'm planning on getting the high gear shallow spool 2000. Think I'll be ordering next month. Quote
Patrick Morrow Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 While ago me and my buddys reviewed ci4+, maybe this will help: http://best-spinningreels.com/shimano-stradic-ci4-review/. This may not mean a lot to some of you, but it was top rated spinning reel when we questiond 40 something pro anglers too. Quote
