Super User Montanaro Posted December 16, 2014 Super User Posted December 16, 2014 If I had the money I'd display it on a shelf But right now I wouldn't bother buying a reel I was afraid to use. Last thing I need to worry about while fishing is the d**n finish on my reel.... Quote
papajoe222 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 When that reel becomes memorabilia to you, then you can put it on a shelf. I have several that I've used over the years that will never see use again, but I display with pride. Using them and recalling the good times you had are what make them worth displaying, not how much you paid for it. My Mitchell 300 was the first reel I ever purchased (1965), It sits on the shelf above my computer and brings a smile to my face every time I look at it. 1 Quote
Trey Harpel Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 there are only a couple reels that I dont fish with anymore and 1 being my 1 of a kind Lambo reel... This bad boy has been used before but until I get time to drop in some faster gears it will just have to look pretty SICK.... All my reels are covered with the THICK daiwa Neoprene covers when sitting on the deck and in the rock locker... Ive had some reels for 10 years and they look the same as when I bought them... 1 Quote
