hoosierbass07 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 OK, I went to Walmart and bought that fanny pack. lol. Only ten dollars. I tried it on and it seems comfortable. It just might be a good light bank fishing bag. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted December 24, 2014 Super User Posted December 24, 2014 I use this set up when walking the beach, I can carry about anything I need in it. The fanny pack (I'm paying 20 bucks at the flea market, lol) http://www.ebags.com/product/everest/signature-waist-pack-medium/273659?productid=10302336&sourceid=ADWPRODUCT&couponid=94790994&gclid=Cj0KEQiAwuSkBRC7qKq8rr7796sBEiQA5VnSuC-ELLDjOMjDwBLwhu3cH6-uzq8qyJdxcn0V1_wnhusaAmLe8P8HAQ&kwid=productads-plaid^104978222418-sku^10302336-adType^PLA-device^c-adid^50251294338holds 6 lure http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/polybags-boxes/371111.aspx 3 spools of different leader, bag of swivels if I need them. I have a couple of pre made wire leaders that I dangle from one of the zippers. I've been using this set up nearly 10 years. Quote
Rhino68W Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I use a spider wire sling pack. Bought at DSG. Comes with a little plano box. I second this. I bought one and love it. You can quickly slide the bag to the front and get what you need. Quote
jitterbug127 Posted August 23, 2015 Author Posted August 23, 2015 Stipulating back and forth on this. I have a boat now, so that helps out a ton, I like to bank it as well. I've been a bag guy this year and like it so far Quote
FinCulture Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 bag that came with my BASS membership and a plano. works great Quote
Bruce424 Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Bps backpack. It's alright. Lots of room for stuff. Just lightened it up a week ago. You don't realize how heavy it can get when ya carry everything with you. Haha. Quote
MFBAB Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I'm using 2 fanny packs. - One has mostly finesse or soft plastic gear in it - The other has mostly Power Fishing stuff They both hold a few of the small sized plano boxes and some ziploc bags w various things, and a couple of outside pockets for pliers, snips, sunscreen, etc... I pick up the one I need based on the pond I'm going to, obviously there are some overlapping baits in each one, but these probably only weigh about 10 lbs each, so I am able to stay mobile and hands free. The small size also makes it easy (read necessary) to cull out unneeded tackle and baits, you tend to only bring the ones you really need this way These both stay in my car all the time, I just bring them in once in a while to restock or change the rotation around a little. My fishing life has gotten a lot simpler since going to this system, instead of bringing the whole world with me Quote
Super User bigbill Posted August 23, 2015 Super User Posted August 23, 2015 I was carrying five tackle boxes with five rod setups. Now just a few tackle boxes with five rod setups. A topwater box Plano 9606 A crankbaits box Plano 9606 A weedless box smaller barn roof box The other boxes are in the car near by. I'm a color freak. I'm a tackle hoarder, I have 17 tackle boxes with every bait u can think of. I have those large green spinnerbait boxes (15) filled with every plastic u can think of. I purchased most of this before I retired so I need nothing to fish if things got tight. Quote

Some of these lures are old and still look new. I keep my tackle box closed in the rain. Leave it open at home so the lures dry out. No salted plastics with hard baits. Rules we must have rules Quote
Super User bigbill Posted August 23, 2015 Super User Posted August 23, 2015 Here's more I carry. My kids laugh at me but I go loaded with a little of everything. I do switch baits often. Everyone goes in the pool. That row of Norman thin N's is every color they offer. I have most baits in every size and color. I try to keep it neat, fishing in the dark taught me this. Most of what I buy I give to six family members too. Dad keep them fishing. They do presentations better than me the gals are awesome. Quote
Jaw1 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 I've found myself pond hopping more these days. I've got a three yr old that's not ready for boat fishing for over ten minutes yet so here's what I've tried. I've bought 3 backpacks ( the academy pack, the Browning pack, and the Abu slingpack) of these the sling pack gets the most use. It's just the right size for enough softplastics and terminal tackle plus a few hardbaits for pond trips. It's also easy to fish with on and doesn't impede your ability to chase down a toddler trying to catch whatever has caught his attention at that moment., but I would also recommend looking at some of the fly fishing packs. I've got an old school Williams and Joseph pack that works well also but be ready for some sticker shock fly fishing gear can get expensive quick. Quote
Super User bigbill Posted August 24, 2015 Super User Posted August 24, 2015 Besides my tackle boxes I have a Magnum size boat bag full of everything too incase we go out on a boat. If I have to walk I down size. I have a small soft Velcro pack I kept under my motorcycle seat with a telescopic rod with a zebco reel. Quote
