Texas Hawg Hunter Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Caught this one just before dark on a small jig/craw and lost another on a buzzbait. That was my first ever buzzbait strike and MAN was that exciting! Interestingly, both were very close to shore. Unfortunately, I tried for the life of me and couldn't get that jig hook out so I kinda feel bad about that. In the pic below, the hook is just to the upper left of the eye. This was at the pond near "wiggly field" dog park in Denton, Tx if any of you are in the area. Been in the 60s for the past several days. Was using straight 50 lb. braid. 1 Quote
Super User HoosierHawgs Posted December 14, 2014 Super User Posted December 14, 2014 Nice fish! Sorry to hear you lost one on the buzzbait, but you'll get the hang of it eventually. Topwaters are extremely fun and exciting! 1 Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted December 14, 2014 Super User Posted December 14, 2014 I'm gonna make a rule for guys in TX, FL, and SoCal. If you are catching fish on topwater right now, don't tell us about it. Just say you had to crawl a jig along the bottom reeealllllly slow because the water is cold Pretty fish and glad to hear you are catching some. Quote
