jitterbug127 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Pun intended...anyways got early christmas gift. My wife is the best. Got a silver max (really wanted an h2o mettle express) but couldnt find a lefty. I was really impressed with it. Once i figured out the drag brakes spool tension this thing was a blast. It was much easier to use than i expected and casts a mile. I like having control of where i can stop the cast etc. I am going to enjoy 2015 with this reel. I have it paired up with ugly stik gx2 7 ft mh rod and 50 lb braid. I think it is a very solid combo for under 100 bucks. I am glad to join the bait caster club 5 Quote

Super User aavery2 Posted December 12, 2014 Super User Posted December 12, 2014 Monkey? So you have not met the Monkey yet. Be afraid, very afraid. 5 Quote
Super User HoosierHawgs Posted December 12, 2014 Super User Posted December 12, 2014 The bait monkey comes and night and logs into your online retail accounts. About a week later you unsuspectingly receive a nice box of tackle along w/the BILL Quote

Fisher-O-men Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 What is a golf club??? What is a golf, and why does one need a club to dispatch it? Quote
benthinkin Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Welcome to the club! Before you know it'll you'll want another combo, then another, and another..... i know the feeling i have way to many. and they need to be upgraded Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted December 12, 2014 Super User Posted December 12, 2014 That's a great accomplishment. I've owned my first for about a month now, and am loving it. My transition was very smooth. Don't believe everything they tell you about backlashes, they're not half as bad as people make out. (DON"T try to pick out the backlash-google how to get out a backlash). Quote

Lucky enough for you this is a great support group and we would never encourage you to purchase unless it was absolutely needed. Which is why when you give us 2 choices on what you want to buy, we tell you to buy both....cause you need both. Congrats on the new outfit. I have a feeling you will wind up like i have. With about 35 more rods and reels than you NEED. Quote
boostr Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 And if the bait monkey gets out of hand... Just spank em'... Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted December 12, 2014 Super User Posted December 12, 2014 Welcome to b/c club. A spinner will be an after thought soon enough. (Although they prove useful for certain applications). I have turned a few people to b/c's, at first they were reluctant after some time they could't imagine their fishing without one. Quote
lordpaxin Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Welcome to the club! Before you know it'll you'll want another combo, then another, and another..... This is the truth I started with a lews speed spool and a cabelas Rod pro guide 150$ total Now I have 9 reels and at least 2 rods for each Not counting spinning things It's a disease Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 13, 2014 Super User Posted December 13, 2014 Remember, you NEVER have enough rods. It is a rule of bass fishing. The Bait Monkey loves you! Merry Christmas. Quote
lordpaxin Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Haha Yes And every single Rod, reel, spool of braid, whatever. That's to be had for savings must be purchased because it's too good of a deal Quote
