I did a review on these rods below. They are great rods, and a smokin' deal at $69. Usually $99. I just bought 3 more and now I have nothing left to purchase for fishing. (whew!). On sale right now at Cabelas. Spinning and Casting. Thought you might want to know in case you're in the market for a new rod.

Absolute killer bargain at $69!  I like the one I have so much I'm going to get more too!  I have always preferred traditional cork handles but I really like the Winn grip handles on these rods.

I have been interested in these every single time I pick one up at cabelas, but i am worried about the grips failing over time just like they do on golf clubs after use... but for 70 bucks even if they just last a few years i think they would be worth it... thanks for the heads up...

Try them, I think you'll be impressed. Mine have held up so far. Especially for that price.

I have fallen in love with these rods. I started with the crankbait rod and put a Lew's BB1 Pro on it. Holy crap it's awesome. I am going to sell all of my *** Blacks and replace them with ZX rods. For $70 each too. I may come out money ahead with the sale price on the ZX.

I kind of wish they would add a 7'3" MH/MF for really deep crankbaits. But I haven't tried the standard crankbait rod with that. It may work fine and it wouldn't surprise me if it was even perfect for that too.

Handles can be replaced fairly cheap by any good rod builder.  I take my repairs to Thorne Bros.  They do quality work fast and cheap!!

Other notables would be the XML's and Fish Eagle 50's....also on sale. The Fish Eagle 50's are a LOT of rod for the money!

I'll  mention that all the rods I use are the Cabelas Tournament ZX now. Sold my St. Croix Mojo Bass.

The only ones that aren't Cabelas Tournament ZX are my tiny St. Croix ultra-light spinning rod for panfish and my heavy duty G. Loomis for walleye/salmon. Neither types that can be replaced by Tournament ZX's.

Which ZX's do you have, tcbass? I'm looking at the Spinnerbait/Swim Jig, Topwater Frog, Topwater/Jerkbait, Worm/Jig,and Shakey Head rods while they're on sale.

I currently have 4 *** Blacks that are new and I hate to turn that into such a waste but the ZX Crankbait rod is so sweet.

I have all Topwater frogs. I didn't like the topwater/jerk as much bc I thought it was too short. I have 5.

All my spinning rods are the drop shot. I have 2.

Thanks for the heads up, tcbass. Gonna' give 'em a try. Just picked up 3 at that price with the free shipping, though they did add an $8 surcharge to each rod due to length. Have some old (20+ years) rods that have served me well, but that I think it's finally time to try and replace. Hopefully these will serve the purpose, and I'll like them as much as you do.

Thanks for letting us know. I think I will get one to try myself. I have been thinking about trying out the winn grips and almost bought a Hammer rod just to try that grip. This will be a much better price just to see how good the grip is, so thanks.

I think you guys will really like them. And for the price and especially warranty, how can you go wrong?

I had a problem with one of them, the bottom end of the rubber handle cap started separating. Took it to Cabelas with no receipt and they exchanged it for one off of the shelf. One nice thing about buying products with the Cabelas name on them. It certainly didn't come from any other place.
