I was wanting to know you y'all use braid or fluorocarbon when fishing a lipless crankbait. Never really used this technique but plan on trying it this weekend with a red eye shad.

Of those two, fluoro.  But I generally throw them on 10-12# CXX.  For rocks, I like a moderate action rod.  For weeds, fast works better for me.

Braid with a fluoro leader.Braid for the feel when fishing it in and around grass,I believe I get a cleaner "rip" or "pop" out of the grass with the no stretch braid. The fluoro leader is to combat zebra mussels and pike teeth. It works good for the zebes, and I "only" loose a dozen lipless cranks a year with the fluoro leader to the pike, as opposed to 50 with straight braid.

They should make braid scissors out of pike teeth and zebes!
