Super User flechero Posted August 28, 2007 Super User Posted August 28, 2007 This was built back in the spring but I never posted any pics... I put batteries in the camera last night a shoot a few. This rod has become a favorite for so many techniques, that I plan to build another one if I ever get caught up. After looking at the pics, I forgot to wipe it off. ...lol specs: -4C70HF blank -burnt burl split grip with laguna accents -Fuji ECS seat (I never went back and smoothed the check!) -Ti SiC guides -cobalt thread (no CP) with 3 single turn inlays of silver (I love the inlays but I HATE counting wraps when putting them in!) Super User Gatorbassman Posted August 29, 2007 Super User Posted August 29, 2007 That looks great Fletch. I love the inlays. How do you make your labels? Quote
Super User flechero Posted August 29, 2007 Author Super User Posted August 29, 2007 I send out for almost all of my decal work - Decal Connection. I email what I want and about $4 each and 3 days later it's in my mailbox. They can do just about anything, text or graphic for a reasonable fee. I use the "new waterslide" paper. It's tough... and easy to work with. I also use the setting solution. Quote
Super User Alpster Posted August 29, 2007 Super User Posted August 29, 2007 Another nice rod! Great work as usual. Thanks for posting the pics. This summer I did a couple of rods for others that took waaay too long due to busyness/emergencies. Now I am hoping to take some time in the fall for rod building again just for fun. I just bought 3 Shikari blanks on sale at Mudhole. Looking to do something new with them. Exotic burl or try a fancy buttwrap or something I haven't done yet. Wish me luck! LOL Ronnie Quote
Super User .RM. Posted August 30, 2007 Super User Posted August 30, 2007 Very nice work flechero.... Tight Wraps!!!!! Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted September 2, 2007 Super User Posted September 2, 2007 I agree, very nice work. The blue looks good on a rod. I don't build rods or lures but I like to look in here and see what you guys are up to from time to time. I appreciate a good craftsman/artist who shows pride in their work. Quote
