I have several fishing enthusiasts in our church, including an older man who used to fish FLW as a co-angler. I'm going out Saturday with a dedicated crappie angler on Lake Jordan, NC We're going to start at 5:30 in the morning, and spider rig with live bait. I'm looking forward to it! He comes up every Sunday to show me his latest haul of slabs, so he definitely has their winter pattern figured out. Hopefully I'll be able to post some pics.

Should be fun, and with minnows you will literally catch every species out there along with the crappies

Yup. He's been catching stripers, perch, bass, catfish, bluegill, you name it.

Wow that sounds fun good luck!

I wish there were more people in my church who went fishing. :(

Had an awesome day! We caught 60 total keepers, and about 150 fish overall. Surprisingly, we actually didn't catch that many species. We ended up with crappies, largies, perch, and catfish. My biggest was 13 inches.  Had a blast.
