Super User Senko lover Posted December 8, 2014 Super User Posted December 8, 2014 My Grandpa lives near Greenville, and I'm in NC, so I'd like to but I'm not sure if it'll work out. Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted December 8, 2014 Super User Posted December 8, 2014 Roostertail, Sam and myself are going to start a thread some time In January and try to get a good list of BR folks that are going. We don't know exactly what folks want to do, as far as a BR meet-up, but as we get more details hopefully we can get a good group there! Quote

Hey Senko lover, Hopefully you will be able to get down here. I have been sitting on my back porch on the lake and see pro anglers. its awesome seeing them practice! I am hoping to see Mike Iaconelli on the lake. I will certainly not bother them but my familys fishing/boating store is at the ramp so hopefully he will stop in. Would be nice to meet him. 1 Quote

blackmax135 Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 I'm really hoping Casey Ashley will get in it. I know he can pull it off at Hartwell. It would be nice to have the Classic trophy in South Carolina. Quote
blongfishing Posted December 9, 2014 Author Posted December 9, 2014 I'm really hoping Casey Ashley will get in it. I know he can pull it off at Hartwell. It would be nice to have the Classic trophy in South Carolina. Me too! He is such a down to earth guy. I have gotten the opportunity to meet him at The Forrest Wood Cup. He is certainly one of my favorite bass anglers. I just read that he will be in the classic. Quote

I wish i could have gotten to meet him. He is defiantly someone to look up to. Awesome!! He will most likely have a louder crowd cheering at the classic than he did at the cup and he defiantly had the crowd cheering for him at the cup. I think it would be cool to meet any of the pros. I love the sport because most fisherman are down to earth and happy to be were they are, unlike all the other sports. I even got my fiance (who knows nothing about pro fishing) watching it every time it comes on. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted December 9, 2014 Super User Posted December 9, 2014 Here's rootin' for Ike! That would be such a cap to an amazing season for him. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 9, 2014 Super User Posted December 9, 2014 Yep. Have motel room reserved and wife is ready to drop me off at the convention center and then she will hit the quilt shops and go shopping. Remember to bring a big plastic bag for all the freebies; a camera for pics; a cap and felt tip pen for autographs. Looking forward to the event. Maybe we can catch up with each other one day, probably Saturday. We will have to decide the time and place, i.e. in front of a booth. Quote

Nothing like it in the world. And note my post as what to bring, other than a smile. You will have lifetime memories. 1 Quote

And Mike is a great guy and loves to ham it up when you get your pics taken with him. Nicest guy in the world so keep an eye out for him. And Jimmy Houston, Hank Parker, Hackney, Ish, G-Man, etc. They will be all over the place and you will find them as nice as the NASCAR drivers. 2 Quote
DILLY07 Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I would love to fly to Hartwell. Unfortunately, I live in Midwest. If classic was on Table Rock. I wont miss out on that. Quote

Super User Senko lover Posted December 9, 2014 Super User Posted December 9, 2014 Okay, sending an email to my grandpa........ He likes fishing, but he's more the "nightcrawler, anything I can catch" guy so I'm not sure he would enjoy it that much. I know nothing about it, so couple of questions: How much does it cost? Do you just go for the weigh-in, or is there stuff offered all day(s)? Do you think that a guy like my grandpa would enjoy it? Quote

At the expo you will get free stuff so take a giant bag. I usually go to the expos for 1 or 2 day(s) and the other day(s) I stay at the lake. Either fishing or just watching the anglers fish and hope one rides by my dock! 3. You grandpa would probably enjoy it. Mostly spending time with you! My dad is kinda the same views on fishing but he goes with me. Your grandpa wants to see you do something you like. As a young angler myself I know my dad likes to see me do stuff I like and wants to help me be pro your gramps is probably the same. Good Luck!! Quote
