21farms Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 i started out using original power pro, tried a bunch of others and came full circle back to good ol' power pro. the only difference is that i only use power pro in white now. Quote
BasshunterJGH Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Surprised no one has said FX2 yet... Quote
Jaderose Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 20 lb Power Pro Slick. Worth the investment from Regular PP? Don't know..don't care. Gives me confidence, I'm used to using it and my reels are dialed into it. I've never had it break and I've never had it come untied. I generally use a Fluorocarbon leader so I lose 6 ft of fluoro instead of 50 ft of PP if I get snagged beyond repair. Can't go wrong with the PP. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 9, 2014 Global Moderator Posted December 9, 2014 Sufix 832 or Performance Braid. Quote
Super User Angry John Posted December 9, 2014 Super User Posted December 9, 2014 I like 832 after it has broken in, but not my favorite. Performance braid is good stuff and i have a bunch of it. I have this thing about liking sonic braid. I found a bunch of it very cheap on the auction site and it works well for me. 65lb on my frog rod and it is going strong for 3 seasons. I tried 20lb PPSS8 and i had fraying issues with it. It was very limp and handled amazing but would come appart. I have never liked the regular PP due to all the noise in the guides. There are a lot of good products out there and you will have to try a few out to see what suites you best. Quote
IDUTBass Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 50 lb green power pro on my setup and put 10 lb yellow power pro on my girlfriends spinning setup. It's helped her get better with line watching. I wanna try suffix though. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted December 9, 2014 Super User Posted December 9, 2014 All I want from braid is no memory and line capacity. Strength is no issue as just about all of them break well over the label, I rely on my drag to land fish not line strength. The only braid that I don't care for is Tuff line supercast. I've tried many of the popular brands, can't say I favor one over the other, I do buy original PP most of the time due to the price and convenience. I only use spinning gear and braid is on every reel except one, that reel is not used for bass fishing. At present I'm using original PP, PP slick on 1, Fins on 1, Zebco on 1 which is thicker but have had no problems and I bought some US braid yesterday that I haven't used yet. Quote
