Super User flyfisher Posted December 7, 2014 Super User Posted December 7, 2014 i want upgraded head lights for my Jeep. As far as fishing goes, one of the new Hummingbird Helix SI units would be peachy to see wrapped up under the tree 1 Quote

If I can ever scrape up the money I'll be looking seriously at getting one I think. from personal experience i say DO IT!!! best thing i ever did was buy my fishing kayak. it got me off the bank, on the water and no maintenance which is the biggest plus side for me. save the dough to get a decent one that fits you well and is comfortable to sit in and then never look back. i absolutely love finding some water that is hard or impossible to reach from boat/bank and only accessible by kayak. you won't regret it. I'm already off the bank, but the idea of not having to charge a battery, fill a gas tank, worry about if my trolling motor is going to work or if my motor is going to start. Plus I have several bodies of water I fish from the bank that you can't launch a boat unless it's a carry in style boat, so it would be great for that. One of my biggest issues is going to be my dog. Can't go fishing without her without getting a guilt trip when I get home and risking her freaking out and eating the house. Don't really want to go with a tandem but I don't know where else you put 60 pounds of dog in a kayak? Quote

Super User Felix77 Posted December 9, 2014 Super User Posted December 9, 2014 I have a handful of techniques/lures I want to try next year ... 1 - Whopper Plopper (topwater) 2 - Spybaiting All my other purchases will be to replenish my stock. Quote
BassThumbAddict Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I want to upgrade my arsenal. Go from a $60 average on rods and reels to a $120 average. I just want nicer stuff. I also want to convince my fiance to take a honeymoon somewhere I could easily make it to a lake. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted December 10, 2014 Super User Posted December 10, 2014 I want a new tackle bag, some new boxes to go into the bag, and of course some baits to go into the boxes. I'll be happy with some gift cards though. Quote
OntarioFishingGuy Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Looking to get another LTB, maybe with a PX-Type R for finesse. Or not... Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 10, 2014 Super User Posted December 10, 2014 Really gotten interested in buying a fishing kayak. If I can ever scrape up the money I'll be looking seriously at getting one I think. Borrow one first. Most guys love them, but I hated mine. They are VERY confining and the wind is a BIG factor. Add a dog to the mix and I think you might reconsider. Quote

Super User Redlinerobert Posted December 11, 2014 Super User Posted December 11, 2014 Non fishing related. Just purchased this system. The days of throwing away half bottles of wine due to spoilage are over. Ordered a set of extra needles and 6 extra argon capsules. Will pay for itself after a couple bottles of wine. http://www.coravin.com/coravin-systems/coravin-device-100001.html?gclid=CjwKEAiA-5-kBRDylPG5096R8mASJABqEdm4oIzTSTzYHKc0Vjnb0FnqhrIHcr_CLr-D887s-IqwxxoC0ubw_wcB Quote

They are VERY confining and the wind is a BIG factor. Add a dog to the mix and I think you might reconsider. I've fished out of a small sit in and had fun doing that, I'm sure a bigger, more stable and comfortable sit on top kayak that was actually built for fishing would be a lot more enjoyable still. I fished for years out of a 2 man and only fish out of a 15' johnboat now so I'm used to being confined and blown around by the wind. How you gonna fit a dozen rods, 50lbs of tackle, yourself and Cassidy in a fishing kayak? Lol! I can cut way down on the rods and tackle but it's kind of hard to only take part of the dog Quote

Be interested in your review. We throw out a lot of half bottles of wine. It would pay for itself, easily. Quote
