JakeKeenom Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 I have been wanting to start throwing spybait or spinbaits. I have recently ordered some duo realis spybait 80s and I am not experienced with them. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for spybaiting? Quote
dolomieu Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 It’s pretty simple, quite frankly. Use light fluorocarbon (4-6lb will work) and probably a medium-light rod is optimal. Make a long cast, count it down to desired depth (the Spinbait 80 sinks at approximately one foot per second), and reel it in very slowly. It is a technique that takes quite a bit of patience. Quote

Acwood04 Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I love spin baits, especially the duo realis one. Spinbait 80 and now they've got the spinbait 90(1/2 oz for baitcasters and a lil bigger). A guide I hired last year to teach my father fishing loved Em, and I've gotten in to em as well. Fish them slowly over Brushpiles and I've also caught some throwing the spybait in to s sandy shore and slow rolling it back. I watched the bass follow it all the way until he hit it!! Quote
