Super User A-Jay Posted January 22, 2015 Super User Posted January 22, 2015 Finally under $2 a gallon here at 1.94 yesterday ~ The massive fleet of snow machines & rides that flock up here each year seems to have doubled. They must be loving it - they were getting killed at the pump - last year especially. The influx really boosts the economy here. A-Jay Quote

A couple of weeks ago Premium was $2.29 (I think it's even less now) - Cheapest it's been in . . . forever. I took on a full tank - and I was pretty happy about it as well. A-Jay 1 Quote

Super User *Hootie Posted January 24, 2015 Super User Posted January 24, 2015 That's got to be the lowest price in the country! Hey guys, I knew that would get your attention. Actually the pump price was $1.97. I just happened to have $0.60 cents off in Kroger gas points. Not sure if you know what that means. Hootie Quote
Super User retiredbosn Posted January 24, 2015 Super User Posted January 24, 2015 Saw an interesting report on either CNN or Fox, the angle of the story was that the Saudi government is the driving force of the price reduction, but that it was being done with the United States to weaken the Iranian government. The report went on to say that by weakening the Iranians, that most of ISIS's funding would be shut off. Not trying to start a political debate just thought it was an interesting report. Quote

Interesting and not unreasonable. I did see a report on CNBC that OPEC nations other than Saudi Arabia plan on raising the price, they need the money. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted January 28, 2015 Author Super User Posted January 28, 2015 Local variables affect the pump price, but the underlying cost is crude oil which continues to get crushed. Over the past several weeks prices have moved up and down $3.00 or more, but today's market is a new low for the current contract (March) and confirms the trend. $40 will be a signicant test. Quote
