Ordered 2 of them For guests to use on perch & small smallies & pike up to about 3'.  They seem exceptionally quiet & well balanced to prevent spinning spool shaking. Drags were fully released. I had never seen them in person. Dam they look classy. Do not want to use 5W  20 DETERGENT on them.  The detergents might attack parts.

Who sells decent light weight oils. The train people use to have a neat tube oil.  Straight oil  no additives. Not sure about Mineral oil either.

Thanks

All a detergent does in motor oil is help suspend particulate and combustion residue. There's nothing harsh or harmful in that. You don't need anything fancy for oil on those. Main thing is to keep them clean.

Thank you.

At 77 I DO leave the rods laying on the seats of the boat for lunch. Then come back to the boat after a heavy rain storm a week later to check if the pump is working.

SUPRISE !  Reel may be soaked & need a complete relube job internally.
