fisherrw Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 what do you all think of fishing in muddy water? it rained all night and today at my house and i am going fishing at cachuma lake CA in the next few days... Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted December 2, 2014 Super User Posted December 2, 2014 I do it all the time when fishing for bowfin and sometimes I find myself in situations where the bass are in pretty "muddy" water... The bass may hold a lot closer to cover than they would when the water is more clear. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted December 2, 2014 Super User Posted December 2, 2014 For lures, I tend to throw something with flash and/or vibration, such as a spinnerbait or a lipless. They "cut through" the murky waters a lot better than other, less visible lures. Quote
BammerBass Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Something that gives off a nice "flash" or a contrast like chartreuse color would be good for muddy water, they'll be able to see it better, and somethj thwt gives off a good vibra tion would be a good option as well. It has been aaid that fish, bass especially in particular, dont take kindly to "in your face", bright type colors. So while perhaps you may not get a hunger strike, per se, but you can get " anger strikes" because of their territorial nature, they wont like thst being up in their face and as such, they'll take a chomp at it. Super User Senko lover Posted December 4, 2014 Super User Posted December 4, 2014 Firetiger is always a good color choice, ranking up there with red, orange, or chartreuse. Quote
