What Is This Fish Doing

Took a picture of this small, smallmouth bass this summer and I can't figure out what its doing, a friend said its waiting for food to pass by but the other 50 billion bass in this lake don't do it so I am hard pressed to believe that, let me know what you think. Please note, this is NOT photo shopped

Just a SWAG - Don't gobies make holes in the lake bottom that look like that?

Well it's plain to see.....that smallmouth was adopted by gobies.

That fish is a little shy about defecating in public, so he built his own hidden poop palace.  I doubt that he appreciates you posting a picture of him at such a private moment...
