rchiuz Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Hi all, This past weekend I stopped off Basspro to buy some supplies and got a free Rapala lipless crankbait for coming in early. At first I thought it was nice till I saw the huge BPS logo stamped on the side of the lure. Does anyone think it will actually catch something? LoL I try to imagine a bass seeing it, that's a strange looking fish haha Just something that was on my mind and wanted to share. Quote
adam32 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 It's no stranger than the giant treble hooks hanging off of it. Sure it will catch fish! Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted December 1, 2014 Super User Posted December 1, 2014 Try not to let it bother you, it will catch fish, it's a non factor... Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted December 1, 2014 Super User Posted December 1, 2014 Don't worry about it, bass don't read English. 5 Quote
Pinoy_Basser Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Rapala released a series of lures with a paint job based on the "Angry Birds" characters. My friend has one and it still catches fish. So a logo on lures will have a minimal/to no effect. Important is the action it has on the water. http://rapalaworld.com/angry-birds-products 1 Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted December 1, 2014 Super User Posted December 1, 2014 They work about the same as a golf ball with a logo, you still have to have the swing. 2 Quote
Super User Raul Posted December 1, 2014 Super User Posted December 1, 2014 "Fishing With Logo Imprinted Lures Work?" Is this a real question ? 2 Quote
rchiuz Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 Yup, just a thought since most of the time you want lures to imitate bait. More of a funny thought Most lures I use the logos are very small compared to the big yellow dot with the BPS logo. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted December 1, 2014 Global Moderator Posted December 1, 2014 If you think color with contrast works sometimes (most do) then it's a good thing... If you think color doesn't matter (some don't) then it's a good thing... It's all good Mike Quote

Super User Senko lover Posted December 1, 2014 Super User Posted December 1, 2014 Read this article: http://www.bassmaster.com/news/best-crankbaits-life-are-free and tell me if you still think logo-imprinted lures won't work. Quote
hzzhangc Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I guess that's why this bait was sold in Japan cause bass don't know English 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 1, 2014 Super User Posted December 1, 2014 I've always thought a crank with a kitchen sink printed on the side would be a great seller. "I threw everything AND the kitchen sink, and still blanked!" 6 Quote
Super User Raul Posted December 1, 2014 Super User Posted December 1, 2014 Yup, just a thought since most of the time you want lures to imitate bait. Imitate bait ----> what a bunch of nonsense. What "imitates" bait is not how it looks but how it moves. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 1, 2014 Super User Posted December 1, 2014 it will never work. You can send it to me for proper disposal. 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted December 1, 2014 Super User Posted December 1, 2014 Ya can put any logo on any color Rat-L-Trap, they even have a Saints & LSU Trap. Quote
MassBass Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Lures with Bill Dance's signature on them are deadly. Lures with Jimmy Houston's signature are good to, but not as good as that Bill Dance. Quote
Jtrout Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Got a couple snap on edition rapalas with big logo on the side they have caught some fish Quote
drodriguez Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Lures with KVD on them work perfectly. Darn bass will never learn. Lol New, the Howler works numbers. Just look at last years Classic. Fish can't read. It won't matter. Quote
