Number 1's or 1/0's worm hook if the bass are over three pounds.

 

You can also use an "octopus" type circle hook, too.

Best?Best is subjective. Everyone has there favorite, mine are VMC.

I use 1/0 Gamakatsu split/drop shot hooks now,

and I tie my own weedless guard using 20lb coated

malin line. They work fantastically. 

 

The other hook that has been a mainstay is the 

Gammy Wide Gap Finesse hook.

 

But like I said, the split/drop hook is fav for now.

Has a thin diameter, but is very strong. Thin means

easy penetration into fish mouth, and they stick 

well.

 

Like ww2farmer said, tho, it's all subjective.

I use a 2/0 weedless circle hook with an O ring on the worm. With that rig I can use the same worm all day long.

I started off with VMC weedless wacky hooks.  They are very weedless/snagless, but I lost a lot of fish on them; usually, well into the fight.  Then, I tried Owner weedless wacky hooks.  My catch ratio went way up, but I found myself hanging up a lot, especially on wood.  I figured the increased catch rate was worth it, even though they were more expensive than the VMCs.

 

This fall, I tried Decoy Cover Finesse HD Worm 220 weedless wacky hooks.  They are cheaper than the Owner hooks and seem slightly more weed and snag-resistant.  The weed guard is more durable than the Owner mono guard.  I think I'll be using them from now on.

I use the Owner 2/0 weedless wacky hook and a rubber O-ring.

Depending on the size of the plastics being wacky rigged, I have 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, 5/0, 6/0 weedless hooks. I use eagle claw 249w and there other one. I use any other brand that's affordable too. I use snap swivels on the end of my wacky rig. This way I can change out my prerigged baits very quickly. Time matters when the bite is on.

Do not be afraid of going up one larger hook size on the wacky rigged plastics. Too small of a hook means less hook ups.
