Super User Senko lover Posted November 29, 2014 Super User Posted November 29, 2014 2014 was an amazing year. Spring: Went to Bass Pro and got my first combo: A $30.00 Shakespeare synergy (spincast). Started nightcrawler fishing and enjoying some productivity. For every bass I caught, I caught about 3 sunfish. One day, I ran out of worms and tied on a Super Spot. Caught my first fish on fake bait (and a 2 1/2 pounder later). I was hooked! Started fishing fake bait more often, but didn't fish it exclusively until the summer Summer: Was given a spinning combo and 3 boxes of finesse worms. Started fishing ponds around my house. I fished almost every day, honing techniques and catching fish on new lures. I mastered the finesse worm . Caught my PB on a private lake. Fall: Caught my first buzzbait and jig fish. Winter: Got a baitcast combo, (today) caught two nice fish on it. I went from spincast to baitcast in less than a year......what a transition! 2014 was an amazing, amazing year. Many bass caught, a lot of good memories, and hopefully a lifetime more await! Quote

BooyahMan Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Glad to hear you had a memorable year! We're in the same boat; I cracked my local lake and figured out where and how to fish a frog effectively, not to mention also a PB bass for me. Here's to an even more memorable year next year. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 30, 2014 Global Moderator Posted November 30, 2014 It took me about 13 years to make that amount of progress, well done. 1 Quote
BammerBass Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I've had a similar year to you except im just no good at b aitcast outfits, and has I believed would have easily been my personal best snapped the line before I got her all the way up (got her up well enough to tell she was a nice one). Caught numerous dinks this year, but have had a few decent 1 lbers, and believe it or not, my bass to panfish ratio is actually slightly in favor of bass, which is definitely a deviation from years past. Congrats on your success, and as others said, the year is not ovrr yet and there are big ones out there just waiting to be caught!! With your quick progress, youll ptobably have a new personal best much, much sooner than you think. Keep at it, i certainly hope to be able to at least achieve a 3lber this year for myself. 1 Quote
