Super User slonezp Posted November 29, 2014 Super User Posted November 29, 2014 Sorry Raider Start my new job on Monday. New title is HVAC/R Trade Specialist. In layman's terms I'll be a consultant. Going to be quite a change, but I'm looking forward to it. I can finally give my crippled body a rest. 3 Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted November 29, 2014 Super User Posted November 29, 2014 Do you think there's a reason why they call those really comfortable shoes that back office types can wear - Loafers? IBR - In Before Raider! 2 Quote
BassnChris Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Welcome. It will be a mixed blessing. But beware........for everyday you spend with the carpet walkers.......the closer you will come to assimilation.....until the day comes that you will not be able to return. But I welcome you just the same. Boo ha ha ha ha. 1 Quote

Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted November 30, 2014 Super User Posted November 30, 2014 Traitor!!! Well, hold on a second. Do you still get to keep your yellow ticket as a carpet walker? Or is that over and done with? Walk that carpet boy! Push them papers! LMFAO! While you shuffle about in a tie and loafers. I will be working another power house outage until spring. At which time I believe I will be coming to Chicago to work in your lovely state of Illinois. Was going to come up there for an outage last week. Decided it would be a bit cold for me with all that wind and snow. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 What happend to becoming a engineer? Now I am not sure if we can fish together next summer. Bad enough you are a from the land I hate. Then throw in you are a bears fan, and the new job. We would have nothing in common. I am dispointed in you man. Just for that. The cubs will not win a world series intill you die. Quote
VolFan Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 . The cubs will not win a world series intill you die. That's more of a statement of fact than a threat. Quote

When you roll up on your hog, I'll be waiting for you on the 29th floor of that tall building in the middle If by yellow ticket, you mean journeymans card, I will continue to pay my dues for now. Never know when that card will come in handy. I was already offered a job at the Chrysler plant in Belvidere IL. Can't tie a tie and don't own a suit. Jeans and nice shirts are the dress code. I can handle that. 1 Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted November 30, 2014 Super User Posted November 30, 2014 Good luck in your new job. Just remember where you started and keep that in mind as you work as a consultant. When i worked at a large bank it definitely came in handy that i started as a call center rep, then moved on to QA and then as a process engineer. Having that experience provided a perspective that was welcome in many situations. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted November 30, 2014 Super User Posted November 30, 2014 Congrats man. Bigbill is correct. Be prepared for a different type of tired. I've been a consultant for over 15 years, and I can tell you, it takes a while to learn to turn it off when you go home. 1 Quote
