Thanks for asking. He is still in a medical induced coma to keep him stable. We also learned today that his entire rib cage on the right side is shattered, and right lung punctured. They didn't do much today from what I am told. Kind of wanted to let things settle down, and stabilize. Last I knew he was going in for more surgery to try and save his left leg sometime tomorrow.

His family (wife, brother, and nephews, they have no kids of there own) is keeping all of us employees in the loop. There is no visitation right now for obvious reasons. The guys and I are going to keep on working so at least something feels normal. No good will come from us packing it in and moping around, especially since there really is nothing else we can do. It feels like a helpless situation, but we'll keep plugging away and hope and prey it all works out.

Btw,  Thanks to everyone for there thoughts and well-wishes. Just having Bass Resource to look in on during the day takes a little of the gloom away. I sure wish someone would start an argument about the best $100 rod soon, I need the entertainment LOL.

Wow that is awful. I've seen some terrible stuff working on farms, including a guy getting disemboweled by a longhorn bull, but getting chewed up by a combine   The fact that he's alive at all is a miracle in it's own right, hopefully you'll hear some good news soon.

There is no such thing as a good $100 rod. You don't even get into good rods until you have spent at least $300.

How's that farmer. If that don't get an argument started, nothing will.....lol.

If it says Loomis on it it's automatically nicer and more sensitive than ANY other rod!

Lol

Just got an update from the family, surgery went well, and for now it looks like he is keeping his left leg. That's all I know for now. Keep the positive thoughts rolling.

Here's hoping that you boss will make as full of a recovery as possible.

This morning I guess they took him off the heavy sedation/induced coma and woke him up. He opened his eyes and was alert and knew what had happened and what was going on. Still optimistic about the left leg, and they were able to, for the time being, save enough of his right leg below the hip socket to at least fasten a prosthetic to if/when the time comes. Still a long ways to go before he's out of the woods, and still a lot of things unknown at this time, but at least the news today was somewhat positive.

What he is going through physically is unimaginable, but what he will be going through mentally will be even worse.    Not much you guys can do physically for him, but staying strong for him will help immensely.   And I know all of you will.

It's been a week since the accident. He's still kickin', and every little bit of news that trickles out to us is better than the last. We're still working, so things have settled down here for now. It's just a wait and see game from here on out.
