Hey everyone! One of my local sports stores is selling Diawa Lexa reels for 50% off ($69.99). Would any of you that have used them recommend these over any of the Tatula models? I do not have experience with either. I'm sorry I can't be more specific about exact models, but the ad was pretty vague.

Any thoughts or reviews are greatly appreciated!

I've got a Lexa 100 (7.1:1) and it's a fine reel

other than an issue I have where during a cast

the thumb bar engages causing an abrupt halt

to the cast. It ended up mangling the anti-reverse

pawl, but I straightened it out and the reel works

fine now.

I may have a unique issue. That's a great price.

The Tatula gets major thumbs-up, but it is a larger

reel, some prefer palming the Lexa. I'm one of those.

Any reel at 50% off is a great buy for the most part......there are exceptions when they are inexpensive to start with.

I have Tatulas as well as Lexa, personally I'd go with the Lexa for that price .The Tatulas a great reel for sure but for 70 bucks its a deal.

That's a good deal, but you can find tatulas for around 100$ and with it being black Friday you might be able to find a good deal on a tatula if you look around. I have a tatula and I love the reel.

But you couldn't go wrong with a 70$ lexa ethier!

I also prefer the palming of the lexa. Tatula has the better bells and whistles. I just couldn't use it for long and sold it

Amazon has tatula for 90

I've had both and prefer tatula

I've owned both. If money is tight then the Lexa is a good choice. If you can spare another $20-30 then I'd buy a tatula. It feels more solid and is a better caster. The lexa does palm better and isn't a bad reel though. The bearing supported pinion of the tatula makes it feel very smooth.
