carlm01 Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Happy Thanksgiving to all, , I'm thinking about adding the 598 to my frameless pontoon.. I fish on small lakes and ponds and typically cast towards the shore and was hoping that that the side scan would help me out in seeing whats there for structure.. Ive seen an awful lot of comments that the screen is too small to make out any kind of structure ? any advice is appreciated ... Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted November 27, 2014 Super User Posted November 27, 2014 For Side Imaging, BIGGER is better. I have a unit with that size display, used it for a couple of years before getting larger display units. You may want to consider the Helix 5 Side Imaging unit due out next month--- wider display. carlm01 Posted November 27, 2014 Author Posted November 27, 2014 Thanks Wayne , went on bass pro they're accepting pre-orders looks like it would be better ,Still have to ask how's the clarity on the screen ? Thanks Carl Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted November 27, 2014 Super User Posted November 27, 2014 Image quality is the best in the industry. Just smaller than the bigger units with less image quality. Quote
