ABW Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I'm having a little trouble wrapping my mind around the different series of jigs that Siebert Outdoors offers. Could anyone explain what series each is used for? Thanks! (Sorry if this is a dumb question, I just placed my very first order from them yesterday, so I'm still an noob.) Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted November 26, 2014 Super User Posted November 26, 2014 What jigs did you order? Quote
ABW Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 The regular arkys, brush jigs, some fogys, and swimjigs Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted November 26, 2014 Super User Posted November 26, 2014 well the fogy's are basicly a chatterbait vibrating jig. The swimjig is used anywhere you would use a spinnerbait. Just think of it as one without the blades. Arky's and brush jigs are basic cover jigs, but different heads. Then you have football jigs that work best around rock/rubble and are used to drag as they don't hang up as easy. Quote

I was thinking like the difference between the Dredge series, Mata series, Big O, etc.. sorry if I confused you. I already know about the types of heads. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted November 26, 2014 Super User Posted November 26, 2014 Just different designs. Some go through brush better and others rock. Heavier hook, different fall patterns. PM Seibert jigs and ask. I'm sure he will give you a better break down and more technical info about the aspects of each head. Quote
brgbassmaster Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 IMO the storm series. Football head 3/8ounce with the OOMODGEN1 is the best color. Thats the black and bluish purplish one. 3 Quote

Wish we could have gotten out earlier because in those 3 hrs we caught over 70 largemouth in the 3-5lb range and thats with a scale. Possibly the best day I've ever had fishing. Love that jig color. 1 Quote

PersicoTrotaVA Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I have the same questions but I think I am going to have to PM him. I can't really navigate his site too well. It is a little overwhelming. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I was thinking like the difference between the Dredge series, Mata series, Big O, etc.. sorry if I confused you. I already know about the types of heads. Its mostly in the hook. Here is a break down Big O's Owners Description: Flip 'n' pitch jig hooks, with a 60° eye-bend and a heavy-duty, forged XXX strong shank, ideal for horsing big bass out of heavy cover. Features include Cutting Point® and black finish., 66 strand skirt, and wire tied Storm is the same and also a donation series that goes to Tackle the Storm. These colors are also colors that are the mods favorites. I'm going to be posting up Bassers here soon. Grid Iron uses the same hook but has my new design football and the ability to have a collar, rattleband, or wire tie with a 55 strand skirt. This makes it possible to get an ultimate jig for 3.15 with one of the best hooks on the market if you go with a banded collar. Dredge uses an Owner XX strong Owner Deep Throat jig hook. Owner's description: Flip 'n' pitch jig hooks, with a reverse sproat bend that's ideal for fishing porkrind and other trailing baits. All Dredge have a either collar, rattleband, or wire tie with a 55 strand skirt All the Supreme series use a Mustad Ultra Point hook and have a collar, rattleband, or wire tie with a 55 strand skirt option. 1 Quote
Super User deep Posted November 26, 2014 Super User Posted November 26, 2014 Mike, do you offer your grid iron FB jig with a long-shank light wire 4/0 or 5/0 casting style hook (for 3/8 or 1/2 oz heads)? Thanks, Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I have some that have Mustads in them. They tend to be a hair lighter then the Owner xxx, but not an actual light wire hook. I haven't added these to the website yet. With the mold I dont think a light wire would work due to how thin the hook. It would fill the eye hole with lead. Quote
Super User deep Posted November 26, 2014 Super User Posted November 26, 2014 Ok, no problem. Thanks for the info. P.S. My wallet says thanks too. Quote
Ghostshad Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Ask Mike he'll answer any question you have, and he loves fishing the jig,he's was very very helpful helping me.He will get back with you very fast, you won't be disappointed. Quote
