Texas Hawg Hunter Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Caught my personal best this weekend fishing from a dock on a small pond at our deer lease in Centerville, Tx. We didn't have a scale but compared it to pics and videos online and we estimate 7-8 pounds. Caught on a 1/2 oz. Booyah spinnerbait during light rain in about 3 ft of clear water. 8 Quote

BammerBass Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Oh yes I say 8 is definitely a good estimation. That fish has it all, length girth, belly, 8 lbs is definitely in the equation on that one. Well done!! 1 Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 27, 2014 Super User Posted November 27, 2014 Fantastic and the photo is just right for your Christmas cards. Congrats on your personal best. Now that you released her you can go back and catch her at the spawn and add a pound to her weight. Kool hat, too. 1 Quote

I gave serious thought to mounting her but since it is a small pond I put her back to make more big fish babies. 1 Quote
Driftb Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Beautiful old fish! Although maybe not so old in Tejas. You have a good enough photo to do a repro mount, all you would need is a length and girth measurement. 1 Quote
