Sold my Bushmaster (5.56/.223) to a my hunting lease buddy to acquiring a quality AR.  After doing some research, I choose this Ambush arms AR in the .300 AAC "Blackout/Whisper Caliber"  Has  enough punch within 200 yards so it is doubling as my new bush rifle for hogs and deer using 110 Grain Barnes Vortex, a silenced hole puncher for fun at the range, can use heavier 200 grain + bullets in subsonic mode and doubles as a tactical defense weapon in case preppers are right , lol. The can hanging off it is a Thunder Beast silencer, is not mine, going to try some different ones out before settling on one and putting in for my tax stamp.  Choose to put a Burris MTAC 1.5x6 for all around use, using a Burris PERP mount.

Any of you guys shoot suppressors, use a 300 Blackout, or have a Daniel Defense?

A little about the 300 Blackout round for those of you interested.

Let me know how you like the MTAC and PEPR. Been eyeing the combo with the FastFire II on top.

I have a BO. I hope you hand load or it's going to get expensive!

I reload, but mostly shotgun ammo for duck and doves.   I am about to go all in and get a reloading press, I mostly shoot .40, .308. .223, and now .300 AAC. I don't shoot enough to merit a progressive press.

So far so good, I too looked at the FastFire option for the MTAC and decided against it since I can always turn my scope down to 1.5x (I bought the 1.5 x 6) and effectively have a lighted sight without need for red dot.  So if you are only sticking to low magnification I would recommend against getting the fastfire mounted on top of it, unless you simple want a backup to the traditional magnified scope and even then you may want it mount at an angle not on top of the scope, since it isn't ideal to have it much higher than the MTAC is with the PERP mount, you will have to lift your head and not get a good cheek weld, so you may be better off with an angled mount.

As far as optical quality, it is very clear no noticeable edge distortion on 6x power, have not used it in low light conditions or compared it to some of my other scopes Zeiss Conquest, Bushnell Elite, Burris Tactical, and Kahles, but for its intended use it seems like it will perform great.  I'll know more once I get to use it and run some rounds through it and play around with the knobs to zero it.  Hopefully it performs as well as my older Burris XTR, which I love and is my go to hunting scope 4.5x - 14x. PERP mount is perfect, but a bit heavy.

I use a Rock Chucker and it's great! I'm trying a new load, 110g v-max and 20g of H110. I'll let you know how it goes.
