Super User smalljaw67 Posted November 21, 2014 Super User Posted November 21, 2014 The Senko, that is what I break out when absolutely nothing else works, on the river for smallmouth I'm using a 3" version on a 1/16oz jig head with a size #2 hook. On the lakes I'm using a 4" or 5" depending on where I'm at and I'm texas rigging the 4" Texas style weightless with a 2/0 EWG hook and the 5" on a 3/0 EWG hook. I don't use the wacky rig when I need to make something happen because I'm going to put the worm in cover so it has to be weedless. Quote
papajoe222 Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Not because it always produces, but when it seems that nothing is working, I'll find a nice steep drop off and work a Spook 10-20yrd. out. The other option is a small stick worm wacky rigged. 1 Quote
OntarioFishingGuy Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 3'' stickbait wacky rigged or a small Mepps. 1 Quote
primetime Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 4" black blue tail bass pro curly tail worm on a split shot rig, or a pearl/silver 4" yamamoto grub on a ballhead jig, if I am really hurting I will drop shot a really nice streamer that I have my brother tie me which would probably cost alot of money...They have better action than any hair jig, silcone, plastic worm, just not as weedless, but put a split shot in front of a fly or steamer, and you are going to get action guaranteed, but it is all about the person making the streamer or worm as some hairs and feathers are super expensive but my brother used to guide and sell flies to tackle shops in college so I am lucky to have that hookup, I send pics of the colors of the baitish, get pics of mayfly hatch colors, have done alot of research to get the right color combos and they catch fish but usually alot of smaller fish, but it helps build your confidence. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 23, 2014 Global Moderator Posted November 23, 2014 Finesse jig or shakyhead with a trick worm. If I can't get bit on either of those two there aren't any fish to be caught 2 Quote
riverbasser13 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Either a weightless green pumpkin yum dinger, or baby bass Senko both in the 4" model. Quote
