gbryant04 Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Just ordered a 7' Medium (Fast) St. Croix Mojo Bass from their bargain section. $89 TYD isnt bad at all imo. Had to get a new reel for it as well so went with the Laser MG Speed Spool in 7.1:1. Gonna Set up for some lighter worm/jigs Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted October 18, 2015 Super User Posted October 18, 2015 More fluke love.... If you haven't tried a "black" super fluke yet I would highly suggest it. I have 20 packs of flukes and black produces far and away more and bigger fish. I can't explain the logic but that color has been outstanding for me the last 5 years. A guy that fishes the local tournament scene here won AOY while almost exclusively fishing a black fluke year round in less than 8 FOW. Quote

Super User kickerfish1 Posted October 18, 2015 Super User Posted October 18, 2015 Zoom produces the Black color. On their website it is on the top right. You can buy them from many online retailers like TW. http://zoombait.com/trickflukes/flukes/super-fluke/ 1 Quote
JustinU1X Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Hi, my name is Paul. And I'm a fishaholic. Well my boats been in the shop awhile going through a repower so while i am down ive been cleaning up thw tackel room and making some upgrades. It started with 4 Okuma Helios TCS reels in various ratios. I paired those with 4 No. 8 Blackouts purpose chosen for cranking, flipping, spinners, and soft plastics. I then realised I had a couple of deep cranking rods with no reels so I picked up a couple of Abu Orra winches. Then I saw a deal on the flea market for some Okuma citrix reels and couldn't pass it up. There is also a sale happening for model year 2015 Castaway Skeleton Rods, so I picked up a trio of them to match the new citrix reels. All told its been an expensive couple of months for hardwarwe. Not to mention the TWH terminal tackel and bait orders. On the bright side I should be in good shape for fishing the fall/winter here in Fl. Step 1 admit you have a problem... NAh- I'm still in denial. I really like those TCS reels, I have the the 6.6:1 and the 7.3:1. Can cast an Xcalibur one knocker forever. Quote

I'm liking them pretty well so far. Haven't found anything they won't cast well yet. I kind of wish the break adjustment was external rather than having to open up the side panel, but the minimalist design of the panel looks pretty slick, and as rarely as I need to make adjustments hiding the mechanism works just fine. 1 Quote
