Eric 26 Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 @Aaron_H I’ve actually looked at their website way more than I should have and dang near pulled the trigger more than once 😬 I have the Seaguar/Tatula on a rod I use for Z-Man mini max chatter baits and 1/4 ounce swim jigs and really enjoyed it for what it’s worth. 1 Quote
KP Duty Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Picked up a couple of spools from Ali-x for my Tatula 80's. A 6.2g Gomexus spool (black) and a 7.2g KKR spool (red). Gomexus- $20 KKR- $28. 12 Quote

I appreciate that vote of confidence, some of the reviews online were very unfavorable, but lemons happen with anything. I don't typically use the handle on the scale I use now, so no worries there. If anything I can wrap some grip tape around the bottle opener at the top to make it easier to loop a finger in there. I don't drink anything but water while fishing, so a bottle opener has zero use for me. I like the idea of the high contrast screen, taking pictures of a scale in the harsh FL sunlight can be tricky at times. Hopefully mine is good to go! 1 Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted April 3, 2024 Super User Posted April 3, 2024 Few re-stocks and a few new baits I wanna try out. I think the new Zoom Shimmer Shad is gonna be a nice vibrating jig trailer. Nothing ground-breaking. Only 5 in a pack, though. Looking forward to throwing the 6" Mulletron line-thru. If this thing holds up like other Elaztech baits, it is going to be a STEAL at that price. I'm gonna take a black marker and turn that thing into a perch. The Strike King Tungsten Thunder Cricket has such a tiny head. I'm gonna call him Beetle Juice. 13 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted April 3, 2024 Super User Posted April 3, 2024 The top photo is a little blurry there @NorthernBasser. That's not like you. Usually your photos are very detailed and crisp. You just roll out of bed or what? 2 Quote

Craig P Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 I have never bought a higher end spinning setup for bass fishing so today I changed that and picked up one of St Croix's new Physysx rods. I paired it with a Shimano Vanford 2500 I picked up a couple of weeks ago during BP's trade-in days. Not a deal of a lifetime but I saved $30 on the rod with a recent coupon and $50 off the reel trading in an old Shakespeare $20 trout rod. Can't wait to fish it! 15 Quote
Super User T-Billy Posted April 5, 2024 Super User Posted April 5, 2024 New Tranx 401HG on the way. I'm clearly not responsible enough to possess both a credit card and the interwebs. 🤦♂️ Dealing with the Bait Monkey is easy compared to the Muskie Gorilla. 6 5 Quote
Smirak Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Picked up a few lucky craft pointer 127s. Was in Chattanooga this morning and had never been in a sportsman’s warehouse. Stopped in and they had the pointers on sale for $9.99, so I picked up a few… 4 Quote

Super User FishTank Posted April 6, 2024 Super User Posted April 6, 2024 Picked up a few Megabass lures. The Griffons are the new color schemes. I couldn't pass up my favorite color Kasumi Ito but the GLX Double Chartreuse is unreal. Somehow, some of the new Megabass offerings have even better paint jobs. I did get two of Great Hunting 95s. They are a weird one. They have an internal rod with a front counter balancer that causes the bait to roll side to side. It floats and goes down to about one foot. Still waiting on 3 GH 110s. 17 Quote
Jmurphy87 Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Megabass must be in the air @FishTank lol. I have been eyeing a slightly heavier rod lately and have not found the right one. Local shop finally got another one in and after researching it some I decided to finally buy my first p5 rod and a jerk bait color that I didn’t have yet. 15 Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted April 7, 2024 Super User Posted April 7, 2024 KGB rarely does repeats but over the summer they dropped the re design of the Chad Shad in a color called Threadfin. Sold out in seconds and I missed the first drop of 200 Oct rolls around and I'm quick on the trigger and I score one of the 200 batch....catch numerous fish on it during the Fall and Winter. Then in Feb. I lose it and a big fish inch from the net Now in April I scored another one in the third run albeit slightly different painted head and name.......blue headed threadie is the colorway. 15 Quote

I got it as a gift from JLS with a reel I ordered. I've caught a few with it. You will have to let us (me) know how the Tequila Baccarac works out. I've been looking at this one. I almost pulled the trigger on it a while ago but I couldn't decide between that and the Evoluzion White Python. They seem very similar other than price. Once I decided to get one of them, both were out of stock and I have not revisited that idea since. Quote

I hope you love it like I do. scott I am sure that I will like it, did quite a bit of research before pulling the trigger on my first p5 rod. I have been eyeing them for the past 2 years it was between the x-bites, super destroyer, tachyon shaft or the tb. I needed a rod in my quiver to cover 1.5-3oz so I could throw the new spro Chad shad, gantrel jr and some mag drafts. My research showed that the tb tops out around 3oz and it can throw lighter things than it’s rated for. So I figured why not have a versatile stick for a multitude of different presentations and cover situations. Now the fun part deciding on a reel for it and buying some more swim baits. That will undoubtedly lead down another rabbit hole of bass and probably other species fishing lol. 1 Quote
thediscochef Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Thank you Shreveport Bass Pro, very cool! Can't believe they had juggle minnows. Gonna throw that around the shallows when I get home and see what happens. I think I'm weirdly just as excited to try the VMC crankbait snaps (not pictured) on a walking bait. I already use a duo lock to make the bait turn with less effort, I'm hoping the thinner wire, shorter length, and wider loop of the crankbait snap will provide even more articulation (action) at the line tie. Will report back. 13 Quote
Aaron_H Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Picked up a few Chatterbait Evos from Academy. Really been enjoying the bluegill color, picked up a couple to replace ones I lost since I'm down to 2 of them, and picked up 4 in electric shad. Really wish they carried over green pumpkin shad to this line, but electric shad is close enough. 14 Quote
