One reel came in. Still waiting on a new Steez and some other tackle to show up.

I will say this, after going over this reel,  it's like Shimano took a Bantam, the 20 Metanium, and few parts from the Antares 70A and came up with this. It doesn't exactly feel like a Metanium and it doesn't feel a Bantam.  It's like all the things I like from Shimano rolled into one reel. To be honest,  they could have tweeked the frame a little and called it something else. We will see what does on the water.

"Needed" a versatile travel swimbait rod to keep in the truck, so I picked up a Valkyrie World Expedition 711XH. Looks and feels like it's going to be a great addition.

And of course I had to pick up some more swimbaits with the addition of the travel rod...

@Derek1 We’ll see if any bass like it. Probably going to T-rig it with an Owner Oversized Worm Hook. Will probably have to trim a couple segments off the tail for a jig trailer.

Oh Scheels, why are you going backwards on us. The scheels branded ball headed jigs are more expensive with less jigs per package than Eagle Claw jigs at Wallmart.

Example, the scheels 1/16 oz ballhead jigs cost 2.99 for 8 jigs in the package. The Eagle Claw at wallmart cost 2.42 and 10 jigs per package regular price.

I was at wallmart the other day and bought 5 packs of different colored 1/16 oz eagle claw jigs on sale for .50 cent for pack of 10.

My Walmart doesn't usually have much for sales, but they sure do right now. Like mentioned earlier in this thread, Shad Raps for $2. They were all picked over. Certain KVD 1.5's for $2. Berkley pre-rigged Swim Shads. Never used these before but they were marked down to $1.50. Each bait is pre-rigged. The main reason I wondered to the fishing section is because I've been wanting to get some of the Cuda 8" titanium snips. They're usually $14, but were marked down to $3.50! So I grabbed a few.

I resist looking at their auction page. So dangerous with the lots they offer.

Simmons?  If so, I love them.  They are the Lucky Craft king.

I was going to get the new Steez SV TW or the Metanium Shallow Spool but even at the JDM price the Steez was pretty steep and I just ordered a Metanium 100. So for $50 less than the new Steez SV, I got the 21 shallow spool Steez Limited. I got the best of both reels and then some. It's crazy buttery smooth, like an Anteras but its probably half the weight.

That's the face I made when I opened the box. I had no idea it had metallic flake paint.  My wife saw it and said, "Well that one's pretty. ".

Here is the odds and ends of my order. I had to try the Drift Fry. The YGK OLLTOLOS braid is a new one to me. It might have been a mistake.  It's so slick, knots might be an issue.

Some more BFS stuff that I am stocking up on. Some 1/16 keitech tungsten jig heads in #2,#3 and 1/0 some easy shiner 3” in shad, electric bluegill, light hitch. Then some 2.8 fat impact in light hitch and some odd little googan tubes for crappie.

I will say that it’s very alarming how much a lot of these plastics weigh when you break the scale out lol.

That thing is sweet...never noticed the black twing.  I've added it to my list.  I'm a sucker for anything limited 🤴

I took it out today for a test run and it's pretty amazing. Casting is effortless and its smoother than the regular Steez SV TW. The coolest thing is the shallow spool. It's just different but in a good way, just can't explain it yet. Only downside, I got skunked so no fish on it yet. I have it paired with an NRX+ 894C JWR and 40lb YGK OLLTOLOS braid.

Ned rig has been the ticket for me the past few years each winter, and after it being the only thing they'd seem to consistently hit this winter I finally decided to get a dedicated setup. After a lot of research I went with the NRX+ nrr.

I repurposed a Stella 1000 I had on my shakeyhead rod and the combo feels great (it better I suppose 😆)

I kept the monkey at bay for a couple months, but I'm a weak man.

tackle.jpg.b6c422258c670630b72aeeb6c11dfd35.jpg

Picked up a couple spools of line, and the new TB micro a-rig plus some 2.75 swammers. Also grabbed the Tatula to free up a Zillion for...

Just added this to my JDM Daiwa lineup. 22 Zillion TW HD. This will be my first reel with the round knobs.

Whoa! Quick count ~ 35 of them.... That's what I call ALL IN.....

My blue bladed one we talked about in an earlier post should arrive early next week. Just in time for pre-spawn action down here. 3/20 is the full moon. I'm a bit giddy.

There's a few more on standby by as well.

Box only holds so many and each bait has a 'lifespan'.

(the shorter for better).

These baits are basically replacements for my SK Burner collection that are a few years old.  They served me well but between the brown bass & the pike,

I can only re-tune them so many times before I lose confidence

in their structural integrity.  So we went for a re-boot.

I really like that they offer compact & a full frame size baits with 4/0 & 5/0 hook respectively.

These baits give me 'the feeling', which is almost always worth at least one over 6.

At least I'm not alone in this "feeling". Spinner baits are my addiction and these just have "it".
