So I hit up my eBay honey hunny hole again.  I won 3 evergreen stealth blade 3 bhite jack hammers for $21 and some change.  Then I won 4 packs of 13 fishing lunch bugs blue berry yum yum basically to help offset the $10 ups shipping cost.  So all this for 40 bucks shipped.  We will see about the lunch bugs supposedly they are supposed be boyant enough so it looks like it’s in a defensive position.  I don’t know how the bass will feel about that.  However, I won them cheap enough to try

I scored for $1.50 4 inch yum dingers in elders majic color on the Walmart clearance rack. Should look good on a mojo/split shot rig.

I have to get my 2 rods built, finished tearing down and servicing my last 2 bait caster and possibly one more spinning real. Then I can start organizing my tackle and decide what to keep and what to bin. I feel like I’m at the point of my soft plastic I want to throw it all away and start over.

Perfect, I'll be using the Zillion for smallish hardbaits in the 2-4 oz range. I know what the box says as far as line cap but that doesn't always translate to the real world. I'm going to buy one and I'll find something to do with it. ?

I use my Zillion HD for 1.5-4oz A-rigs and big Swimbaits......couldn't ask for anything more including line capacity.   Running high end Fluoro allows me to pack plenty of 17 or 20lb on it for my needs.  I'm not glidebaiting in super clear waters making bomb casts.

I try to avoid looking at that seller's listings lest I go broke. Such great stuff at stupid good prices.

I know.  I’m after some line right now after that I’m done. I kinda wish they weren’t all the same color.  Sometimes they mix it up

The 1520 we were speaking of is actually the older version. I've got one in 6.3:1 enroute from Japan to go on a swimbait rod. I think it holds a decent amount more line than the newer version. It seems like the listed line capacity on many of these reels is different in Japan so it makes things confusing. I think our lines are thicker or we gauge our lb test differently than them.

They also list their line in meters (40" to a meter) to add to the confusion.

Trying to dial in on some trout fishing early this year since my kids loved it so much last year.  Sprinkled in some bass purchases as well.  My BIL also got me a new Fenwick Eagle spinning rod.  Can't wait to put that to use.

2 Okuma Celilo ultralight trout rods, some trout magnets, and a new Tatula CT 100

image.thumb.jpeg.e1ceb66b2e6d1ed49f5b39ccbd8cf1f1.jpeg

An Okuma Ceymar reel to pair with the rod (already have 1 on hand), some power eggs and trout dough, a few packs of my trusty roboworms, and finally getting to try out the PB gilly's

A few more packs of the roboworms are back ordered as well as a new scale and a Cabela's order is in transit.  Ready to get some lines wet!

get some 3" Senko and do weighted wacky will catch your good size, Also use powerbait at the side while you jigging. I do the same every weekend while bassin.

I posted about one of my birthday presents I got from my daughter in the electronics section. A Deeper Start fish finder. Pretty cool.

A friend of mine gave me an Amazon gift card. So I got some lures I have loved since I was a little guy. Mepps spinners. There are a number of reasons I love them. But I guess it started because it was the first "real" lure I was able to fish with when I graduated from bobber and worm fishing. I look forward to trying these out this year.

Don't tell the Monkey I said this, but if you fish small streams, this box of spinners may be everything you need.

I think I have a set of black cork knobs to go on it and I’m gonna spool it up with some 19 or 22 lb Defier Armilo and cast some small/med hardbaits. It pairs really well with the 7’8” Evergreen Combat Stick.

Got 3 new colors I haven't seen before in the Zoom Z Craw and Z Craw Jr. Obviously plan on fishing them as stand-alone on an EWG hook and as a jig trailer. But last year I really started using them on swim jigs rigged vertically. I'll be using these mostly with bluegill-colored swim jigs.

Hot Tamales. It's an orange base with red that kind of bleeds into it.

Rocky Top. This is a Tennessee Volunteers orange color with really light orange flakes.

Pumpkin Spice. Kind of a brownish-orange color. The top side is darker with gold and black flakes. The underside is more orange with a little less flakes.

Nice.  I like the looks of that combat stick more than the high dollar Insparare.  Is the weight reasonable?

I recently got some of the new shallow running Hybrid Hunter Jrs. Comparing it to my regular Jrs. I was having a hard time figuring out the difference. Out of the box I figured the L lip on it would be shorter. Nope, exact same size. So then I weighed them. The Jr was BARELY lighter, so I thought maybe that's the difference? But then upon closer inspection I notice the line tie is a little lower on the shallow version. So that must be it. The rattle sound has a little difference pitch on the new shallow version as well.

I'm curious on the weight as well. I have the 7'1 med-heavy spinning model (Ben from The Hookup Tackle said it was more like a medium before I ordered it...but it's definitely closer to a MH). It weighs 4.71 oz. Heavier than I like for a spinning rod. And it feels pretty heavy in hand, too.

I will weigh it when I get home. It seems reasonable and balances really well with the heavier HD so it feels great.

Those are so beautiful looking rods, for sure. The fit and finish is top notch.

Neato!   How does that bait fish?  Had to google it and saw it's a C-Note, seems I need one lol

Lol, being semi-tough to get and reading reviews does increase the appeal! I've been fortunate to pick them up here and there when DRT does their drops on random Saturday nights on the hour. WCZ will give an email heads up when he's going to drop their collab version (just a custom color- joythief).

A big part of the appeal is that it's highly customizable with different "modes" by changing up the tail or bill. Here's a good video if you decide to go down this rabbit hole.

Ok, the rod weighs 7oz and has a 14” handle, measured from butt to the bottom of the reel seat. The Zillion weighs 8oz and the combo balances an inch in front of the locking nut. Probably not terribly light but it feels great due to the good balance for a 7’8” swimbait rod.

The rod is rated at 1/2-4oz and is definitely a hard bait rod. It’s mod fast with a fairly soft tip. It’s called the “Wakebait” rod and that seems perfect based on how it feels. Build quality and details are excellent, as you would expect.

Yeah they are a little bit different than the regular jr for sure. Seems to work great for me in the river so far, caught my first fish of the year on it. Although it was a pike and I am convinced that they will try to eat anything and everything they see lol. Hopefully I can get some bass on it soon.
