I grabbed a few more things today, ideas in my head are always a bad thing for my pocketbook lol.

I'm definitely partial to the lil magnum and workingman's jigs. Wish they had the natural gill color in the workingman's. Usually just go with the natural gill or dope gill in the gorilla swim jig depending on the clarity. Hopefully they'll add the natural gill color at some point. Was gonna buy the beast coast natural gill skirts, add them to the pro pumpkin or boss flip jig........I had a fiscally responsible moment inside the brain and talked myself out of buying and replacing the skirts.

There definitely good, that’s for sure. My local shop only has a limited selection, although it is increasing as time goes. I usually buy the skirts when I see them in case I can’t find a color that I want. Buying skirts can get pricey after a while though, you wouldn’t think it would add up but it sure does.

Well I didn’t NEED another rod but I was looking for a slower taper casting rod that could handle my jerks/cranks/other moving treble hook baits as well as having a higher weight rating to throw my smaller glides up to 1.5…

Yesterday I saw an Evergreen Combat Stick 7’1M/regular (3/8-2oz) on Amazon for $145 and I had a $20 gift card in my balance so she came home for $125.

I already had the 7’8” wakebait rod in that line and have been super impressed with it especially for a $200 rod, there was no way I could turn down one for $125!  Now I just have to figure out if I like a Exsence DC or PXL-R better on it. ?

I hope you have better luck than me. I found an incredible deal two weeks ago on a 13 Fishing rod. It was a 7'6 MH that they clearly had priced incorrectly and I got it for $69.00 . Three broken rods later I finally gave up. The rod jumped back to $217 but I don't have the stamina to fight with the off-shore help.

Literally ship it in a box , no packing (just the rod flopping around) and they were all damaged, the one today actually snapped it.

When they get models of jigs that I don’t have in a brand that I like, I am a broke obsessed man. I need one of every color in a minimum of 2 weight’s, don’t know if all of the colors will work but I have to have them lol. I am pretty sure that it’s preference over weather they work or not but I have got to have them all. Just a modest amount today only 6 I think, is it sad that I don’t remember ?

Yeah fingers crossed, it was being sold by a 3rd party retailer that stocked them and not an Amazon warehouse so I’m hoping it doesn’t show up in pieces.

I wanted 3 new Reel Glove spinning reel covers. To get free shipping I needed to buy an additional $10. Okay, so I ordered 2 more spinnerbaits. LIke I don't already have two bins of the things.

They jumped right on it and almost immediately notified me that the 5 items would come in 2 packages.

I got the first package today.

I forgot to mention that there was no paper, no plastic, no peanuts, etc.

Picked out a few clearance deals at Academy today.

1/2 oz RES 2-tap $3.69

2x KVD 300 jerkbaits $5.18 ea

And a 40 pack of tungsten weights for only $18.46. Very, very happy with that price, normal price for that pack was $49.99.

I paid $50 for those weights last week!  I thought saving $10 by buying the old packaging was a good deal (new 'h20x' marked packs are $60)

I bought an Evergreen Combat swimbait rod from The Hook Up Tackle and got a free $200 JDM box with the purchase. Some interesting stuff and some baits I will definitely try out.

Sweet! They only mentioned soft baits in the $200 JDM box. I also ordered an Evergreen combat stick (7'0 MH Glass Casting) from them a few days ago. It's arriving Saturday. I'm excited to open the JDM box now.

Post a pic when you get yours, I'm curious to see if you got different stuff than me.

Got a few Rod Gloves, Rage Menaces, JackHammers, a Savage Gear Glide bait to try, VMC swimbait heads, etc.

Looking for a new jerkbait rod and a new jig/pig rod now.  Also may try the new KVD Elite jerkbaits.

It showed up today.  Packed into a sort of janky triangular long box but fortunately was fully padded with beefy bubble wrap and was in perfect shape.  All the eyes were straight and no blank damage.  I’m relieved, I was a bit stressed after I read your post!

Got a few smaller swimbaits and a small swimbait combo (Zillion 1520 with a Megabass XXX Mat Bucker) to play around with this year -

  • Valley Hill Boogie Back
  • RTF Bluegill
  • S-Waver 168
  • Magdraft
  • 115 Silent Killer
  • Spro Chad Shad (on hold at TW, but pumped about it!)

Nice, is the 15lb Tatsu going on the Zillion? I'm considering the same reel for similar baits but I'm undecided on the line and how much that reel will hold.

Thats great to hear. I have option #2 coming from Midway and their GC sale. I have no doubt it will be packed right and be A-OK.

Yea, I was on the fence between 15lb and 17lb but ended up on the 15lb side of things. I’m sure both will work equally well but I plan on throwing crankbaits on the rod too and I was hoping to get some additional depth from the smaller diameter.

Been think'n about using Reapers for probably almost 50 yrs !!
Thanks to wrb for letting all us know this is about it for them.

The 25% off at TW sealed the deal, of course had to get other stuff for the free shipping ?

I'm using a Catalina TW with 20lb Big Game for baits up to about 2 ounces. It's essentially the same reel, but with Mag Z and a little less line cap due to its spool's arbor diameter. Holds plenty of line.

Bass Pro visit today… It’s warming up. I’ll probably hit the water next weekend…4BE5DD32-B632-4803-9741-271277CC8BDA.thumb.jpeg.71063aee8c82a8ad892cf83bcb77a9ba.jpeg

Perfect, I'll be using the Zillion for smallish hardbaits in the 2-4 oz range. I know what the box says as far as line cap but that doesn't always translate to the real world. I'm going to buy one and I'll find something to do with it. ?

Cool, you got a lot of the same stuff I did. I saw today that they ran out of the $200 boxes so I'm glad we got ours when we did.
