I've never personally used them, but I've seen on here that Iovino is stopping soft plastic production, so I would snatch some up off TW quick before they're gone

Me, too!  I guess we will find out if the hoop-la lives up to expectations.

I fished castaic lake. And this is my main drop shot baits. The 3 inch little chugger and the 3 inch Reaper. Small mouth and LMB loves em. Its my go to finesse DS.

Picked up this 6th Sense Trace to try out. I know nothing about this bait so just got one for now. Also I finally found some Spro Rat 40's but I didn't bother getting a pic of those..

Is that the 6" or the new 5" they just released? It's a nice bait.

This is the 6" one. I didn't know they did a 5" but thanks for the heads up. I see they're a little cheaper too so might grab one or two of those to try as well.

Any favorite colors? I would be using them on NC/Tennessee mountain highland reservoirs for all three species

I got one I've fished some, stays much higher in the water column than other similar baits I've owned.    It's a nice bait for sure.

Check out the 5/6" BD Shads as well.   I think it's the best budget big swimbait I've found.

$80+ never looked so small lol

Discontinuation of baits can be a very effective tool for the bait monkey!

I've been following these 13 Fishing baits and gear, decided to take the plunge on the Jabber Jaw squarebill. Paint looks fantastic and the loose bill looks like it should have a loud fleeting action. Grabbed a couple of staples patterns to flesh out the arsenal.

Lots of good reviews on the Scotty Fish Finder Mount and was about half the price of the similar sized RAM mount. Just deciding on a battery, transducer mount and need to pick through-hull wiring kit.

Forgot to post this awhile back... Big cranks and little worms! I bought flick shakes on clearance on a whim and now they have become a staple.

On another note... does anyone have reel suggestions for lightweight cranks? SLX 70 MGL is not cutting it for me... maybe it is user error. But I was looking at the Daiwa JDM Alphas SV on TW. Or maybe the Tatula SV TW 70? Not sure. I am sure the bait monkey would appreciate any input on the matter.

Dang brother, it's truly magnificent!   The only Shimano I currently have in the line up is the Calais 100a, and I hear it's the predecessor to that reel.    It's so bombproof and awesome that I have to get another one.

I got a $25 gift card for Christmas for Bass Pro. I have wanted a ultralight. I used to have one but it got broken by someone else. I have a bunch of ultralight lures I haven't used. I don't spend a lot on ultralight rods. I think it is one rod you don't need the best. I got a Bass Pro $39.99 rod. Then one night I was messing with it flexing it and I went to far and it snapped into 4 pieces. Bass Pro is great with no question returns on their rods. So since a little time had past I could spend a little more. So I got a $59.99 BPS Airstream. I told a friend of mine. He said Just keep breaking them until you can upgrade to a St Croix. I wouldn't do that. But it would be nice.

Last year I lost a couple of lures I wanted to replace before spring. So I got my favorite one I lost. Catch Co. Baby Bull Gill. Decided to get it in a different color.

Also while I was going through the isles dreaming of having money I spotted a square bill in Pumpkinseed. I swear it was winking at me. I couldn't not get it.

So I think I did good for a poor guy living on disability. Only lure I need to replace yet is a Chatterbait in firecraw color. Should be able get it before the warm weather comes back.

@Friggs Those bps branded rods are nice for the money. If for some reason this one breaks I recommend upgrading to the bps panfish elite, I have 2 and think they’re a steal at the $80.00 price. Also if you’re at bps check out their house brand bladed jig (shudderlicious) not available in Fire craw color but a good bladed jig with good action. Lastly you mentioned a tight budget so if you’re at Wal Mart check out their house brand (Ozark Trail) crank baits, they have a bluegill pattern that produced well for me in my local retention ponds. Also they carry strike king finesse swim jigs that are an absolute must buy every time I’m in Wal Mart along with the $1.00 spinner baits.4F3200C3-7CA0-4BFE-803B-DE7753E7F04C.jpeg.f36ae0a72b0bf477096b24e82af3dda6.jpeg0459E7A4-62F1-432B-AA9D-4ECA2F744114.jpeg.af54ed00e66c93e79b8884eea4cc8508.jpeg

Picked out a few clearance deals at Academy today.

1/2 oz RES 2-tap $3.69

2x KVD 300 jerkbaits $5.18 ea

And a 40 pack of tungsten weights for only $18.46. Very, very happy with that price, normal price for that pack was $49.99.
