These are the bees knees. I've been fishing them like a shad style bait with a slow sweep and pause. They've been my go to this winter.

Omnia had a good sale on Lews Signature Series rod. I paired it with the Speed Spool LFS that I got for Christmas. I think I’m in love.D9440753-4FB8-448E-9F02-B01189426B9F.thumb.jpeg.fcaf4e68dff62c4909277644db7ee265.jpeg

I need to hold myself accountable and start posting on this again. But if I don’t I feel less guilty so…

But just snagged a 2019 Antares on eBay to put on my old Dobyns. Now I gotta spend more and upgrade the rod to make it feel worthy of such a reel. Pray that I can hold out until summer!

Mike is becoming a problem.  My wife now knows when she sees the name on the package it's fishing stuff. She's pretty sharp.... but I thought I'd have at least 1 more order before she caught on.

Haven't ordered and spinners or bladed jigs from him yet. I'm excited I think the color will work really well here.

In the lakes I fish I don't have much need for a heavy rod, but I'm still trying to get down to FL soon and hire a guide and figured I might need one for fishing heavy vegetation. I have a BP heavy rod, but it feels like I'm using a tree trunk.

And because I won't use it that much (I think) I didn't want to spend a lot so I picked up a Shimano Intenza. I have to say I like the way it feels.

I paired it with one of my Curado K's that was on an Expride MH, so of course that meant I needed a new reel to take its place. I decided to buy another Curado DC. First off, I like them a lot. But I also do a lot of night fishing in pitch black darkness and the DC is more forgiving if I miss thumbing it on time.

Baitwrx had a 50% winters end sale a week ago or so, Armor Shad and Picasso A Rig weren't on sale but those are starting lineup members.   Caught a 7.1 on the Picasso A Rig last week along with close to 20 other fish, and when I was at home trying to get it re bent perfectly, a dang arm broke off.     While 20 fish including a toad is pretty good, these baits are $22 without any rigging.  If this one breaks as quickly, I'm a Yum Flash Mob Jr. man exclusively.    Got a HogFarmer rig for $22 at the local funstore a week or two ago, haven't fish it yet.   It has much nicer hardware than the cheap Yums, but man the Yums hammer the fish and are on sale at my Academy for $12.97 for everything including high end swimbodies.    It's a steal for that price when a fully rigged is gonna run you $30-35

Buzzers are for my mission this summer of 60+ nights buzzin for a white whale.   Live Magic Shad and Scottsboro swimbaits are staples, been waiting to try that Arashi 18 in that weird color, for $15 it was a no brainer.    Lastly look at how cool those little 3.2 swimbaits are.   Only color they had, but for $2 why not.   I think you can take out a mylar insert for less flash.   Be interesting to see if the action sucks which might be the case.   Why else would nobody be making such a great threadfin imitator shaped soft plastic.

I wanted one for a while also. The mini maxes where $8 I think. Not sure what they are usually. I think the vatalion was $26. I went with my 10 year old grandson. So he would run out of patience. And make me move quickly.  I try to only buy stuff I don’t run into at the usual stores. On a regular basis.  And that’s just about everything there.
his favorite part was the free pickle the woman gave him.

I live in mass. Didn’t think I needed a heavy rod either. Then I got one. realized I needed another pretty quickly.

Took advantage of an unnamed retailers trade program and St. Croix gift card deal to snag this new Legend Tourney. Wish I would’ve grabbed another!  The Coastal came from Amazon and the tackle came from the Baitwrx sale.  Needed absolutely NONE of this stuff but tackle makes me happy so…

Have to agree wholeheartedly.    Those on an A-Rig have just been electric over the last month for me.

Until yesterday, haven't even had a swimbody need replacing, and even yesterday I didn't replace, just reset hook.   I lose the dang A-Rig after 25-30 fish twice now before the swimbaits need replacing ?

I haven't used them on a-rig yet. Just as stand-alone and as swim jig trailer. But yeah, for being as soft as they are, they really are durable. Same with the Jenko Booty Shaker.
