Super User bulldog1935 Posted August 4, 2022 Super User Posted August 4, 2022 @FishTank the only reason I'm calling you here, this inline spinner directly relates to finesse - - had these Vanfook spinner hooks with pre-tied woolly bugger around for awhile, until I found the spinner I wanted to swap them into. The pre-tied hooks are Vanfook Aomidoro (marabou) AM-801 (olive) and 802 (brown) The perfect spinner is Mukai Max Spinner 4.0 g - a single-hook spinner made to keel hook-up and let you bottom-bounce for the best of everything. Last time I looked, BFE has the Mukai Max. Part of the trick is finding a spinner that uses split ring to hang the hook. You can do the same thing at your fly-tying vise with a Tiemco 5263 hook. 6 Quote

Those are cool. I have only fished the traditional Mepps and Rooster Tails. Those are on another level. 1 1 Quote

Super User Jar11591 Posted August 6, 2022 Super User Posted August 6, 2022 Can’t wait to get her on the water. Initial feel is very nice. 11 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted August 7, 2022 Super User Posted August 7, 2022 Couldn't pass up this "deal" for a high quality swim/wake bait and I'm curious to see how it performs next time out. They sure put a lot into the packaging and components... almost pretty. Cool having the smell of a freshly assembled wooden box when opening it up. Extra tail and tail hardware was a nice touch as well. 10 Quote

I'm enjoying it, every 2.5lb-3lb bass feels like a new PB! It's a good drop shot rod, I've had success using the screwhead/spark shad combo which probably means it'll be good for light reaction baits too. 1 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted August 8, 2022 Super User Posted August 8, 2022 Darn jdm and the hook up tackle both got me. Needed another versatile spinning rod, and since I've heard so many good things about the St Croix Victory 7'3"MXF and the hook up had them on sale I couldn't pass it up. Teaming it up with the Exsence BB and it feels pretty great in hand. Bait monkey also informed me I needed to try cover scats, jdm finesse jigs and a couple small swimbaits. 7 Quote

Drawdown Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 No pic this time, but I got 4 packs of Zoom UV Speed Craws in Green Pumpkin, Black/Red Flake, Watermelon/Red Flake, and Junebug. Still figuring out how I like to retrieve and rig them, but I am thrilled at how easily you can fish them at every point of the water column on a light Texas rig. Now if I could only get a bite. Super User whitwolf Posted August 13, 2022 Super User Posted August 13, 2022 I have asked Reaction Innovations for a couple of years now for a Black variation on the Spicy Beaver. I never received a reply. I went to their website a couple of weeks ago and found the "Hitman". I'm pleased. 14 Quote

Super User ATA Posted August 14, 2022 Super User Posted August 14, 2022 Since I am all done in freshwater department and I have everything I need, Bait monkey got me on saltwater deep sea gear this summer and it got me good. Very expensive compare to bass gear, Even the lines are very expensive and you spending about $500 to spool few small reels. Let alone the rod and reels and jigs and weights and so on. But I am good now, Only need to buy one ore reel to have everything I need. 4 Quote
