Needed a new cash back credit card with rewards to my benefit since my old one recently changed its cash back reward categories.  Since I'm getting a $200 cash back bonus with it decided to splurge on a new rod for shaky heads and light Texas rigs.  Also picked up a new Pflueger Patriarch XT 35 off eBay for $100 off retail to go on it.

About two months ago I high stick a spinnerbait fish and break a little over 4 inches off of my Crucial “B” 7’2”HA. I decided to give Shimano a call and ask about a replacement. Using their Express Service (50% off) I was able to get a Zodias 7’2”HA for a small cost increase to upgrade over a Curado rod. Granted, I’d have to wait until this December to get it. So imagine my surprise when the Zodias arrived way ahead of schedule.89EA865B-D698-44DB-9E26-5C1D1BBE6DE2.thumb.jpeg.90edb7c81a7e78cee1ca717c43e2fad0.jpeg

I was able to find a mint JDM Curado 201I for an obscene eBay auction win, and some Carbontex drag washers will be installed at a later date.A47EA511-53D0-4BD8-8ED9-15A6FDB0BF02.thumb.jpeg.8a4dbcf94a873f4b74ac0895f1108641.jpeg

And then my Minister of Scheduling and Finance gave me a green light for a new ride to replace the ‘04 520VX.  I feel very blessed and promised Mrs B I’d cut back on my Tackle Warehouse purchases. Right now my personal bait and boat monkey is fat…5E2642B7-49CF-44F2-8712-290BD37806AF.thumb.jpeg.99b91232fbffb3983be3da7a2b499dba.jpeg

Recent success with the Tokyo rig has got me wanting to make my own. BPS has the wires with needed loop so I picked those up along with swivels and split rings. The monkey wasn’t satisfied so added some slider heads, couple packs of different worms, and couldn’t resist the Plano Edge jig box.
Academy got me with $20 off on a Tatula 100 7.3:1. Didn’t really “need” another reel, but I sure enjoy the one I have and it wanted company…

Re-reading the jig thread and was inspired to place an order with Siebert. Now I need my kayak to arrive so I can put these to good use…98461E21-B0EE-415F-A219-1FBC7743D461.thumb.jpeg.38e01958320dbbaf69e8d071e6184dac.jpeg

A Tackle Warehouse box arrived on my porch today to solve my 5’ long trailer motor toter situation with the new boat. Gonna protect a Pro XS. Thanks to @A-Jay for posting about the DD26 on this thread and confirming with steering locks it’s a sound investment.

had to hunt for the monkey - it's all the way to page 2 - ok, fixed that

Recent parts hunting for my 1500C led me to Haneda Craft to purchase this alloy handle through my broker Masamichi at noppin.com

While I was there, I threw these two lures into my cart.

The handmade and airbrushed swimming surface plug is Smith Hatley's Special Mercury

The frog is Haneda Craft Muscle Frog #26, 1/2 oz.

Waiting for delivery from TW Sale, ordered a few more Spro 50's and 55'. These have been working great for river smallies. Picked up some chromed Wiggle Warts, chromed will be a first try with them. Have been fishing the Warts for a long time.

The Boyo seems a tad shorter than the Puppy, but a little fatter. What's supposed to be the biggest difference between those 2? The line tie on the Boyo seems to be a little higher up than on the Puppy as well?

I think the BOYO is going to work on casting gear and in rougher conditions than the puppy. I'll know in a couple days.

Ah, gotcha. I see now it's 3/8 oz, vs the 1/4 oz for the Pup.

I hope it is. I'll be on Perry this weekend for our championship and looking for smallies first.

Better get them quick, pretty sure they're discontinued.

I'd like to order some but if I buy anymore tackle right now my lady might kill me in my sleep! Have you used them a long time or did you just discover them?

Picked up a Berkley Stunna jerk bait.  I must say it is a really good jerkbait for only $15.

Agree! It is a fantastic warm water jerkbait. Filled a big hole in the jerkbait market, and the hardware is good too. I dig the slow fall, works really well on non-stop jerking. However I will say I wish they changed the front packaging, I accidentally bought a 112+1 the other day because it only tells you it is a +1 on the side or if you are directly paying attention to the size of the bill. Guess the bait monkey wants me to go deep.

Been using them for about a year but haven't talked about them. Since they're going away not worried about it anymore though.

Had a jerkbait sized fish hammer it this evening, but it came off when I boat flipped it.

Oh yeah the old secret keep a lid on it bait or technique. That's how it was around here for me with a mojo rig. Kept it under my hat for several years as that was about all I could consistently get bit on in the dog days of summer. Then one July or August day a buddy walked up on me while fighting a nice largemouth...asks what the heck rig is that? For some reason nobody throws it even now..they just complain about getting skunked in the summer.

Put in an order for two of @Bluebasser86's mini football finesse jigs, for catching smallies in some of our upcoming high school tourneys, and a bunch of my favorite chatterbaits came with it for free!  Thank you!524818998_FullSizeRender3.thumb.jpg.91404b043bfd162985252967f2b7c682.jpg1640332309_FullSizeRender22.thumb.jpg.858b43904e5efb3cbfde0d0a80fca9e0.jpg

Really excited to try some of these colors!
