Taking my Mexican Jerkbait game up a level with the new Lucky Craft Pointer 158 !

This ones a mouthful for sure.

Hoping to feed these to a few Giants down south.

For size reference, the middle baits are a standard MB 110 and a LC 128  . . . .

What rod are you planning on throwing it on? I've been using a 6' 10" MH but even that feels underpowered.

Plan on using one of the  G Loomis Escape Travel rods; Which I love btw.

Either the MH or the H - both are only 6'9" so that's good.

These blanks are a 'fiber-blend' and fish a little past their 'rating' IMO.

20 lb Tastsu and we're done.

The LC 128 has been a solid producer there but not on any DD fish.

Hoping these can trigger something in that category.

If it happens, there could be some 'footage'

as well as a pic which you can expect to be way too close to the camera lens.

Went to an antique store on the way back from Branson.  Buddies where looking for vintage gas pumps, and I was along for the ride.  Swaver 168 for $8.   Manns tail dragger for $3, already caught 3-4 fish.  Got some albino flukes, some paddle tails and some ballhead jigs for $1.  Also got an anchor for the yak.IMG_2031.thumb.JPG.a51c83f6511e4971e46cebba78b7f6d5.JPG

The Bait Monkey met up with me in Alaska.  I had some tackle shipped to a friend in Anchorage.  I picked it up on my way through town, and put it in my luggage on the return flight to Mexico.  Long way around to get lures, but whatever it takes to make the Bait Monkey happy.

Sold a high dollar custom surf rod i wont be needing after my move to NC, SO I Picked up a couple new rods and reels this month. LEWs Carbon Fire, Lews Tournament MP (Holy cow its nice) Daiwa Fuego, Shimano Sahara 2500 for drop shotting... then rods to match them, couple of different Lews CF rods (I really like their CF line, a shame only one place sells them) and a Tsunami Scaletech ML/F for the drop shot rig. Fantastic rods for $60.20210711_185807.thumb.jpg.ffc406660a7b6ebaed770effb67476e3.jpg

Saw these at Bass Pro over the weekend. I'd never seen Roboworms in person before. I don't know if they catch fish but they sure are pretty. We'll see if they work.

I’ve been planning on my next rod purchase for a long time. Thought I was going to get a frog rod, then I thought a jig rod, then crankbait rod. But truly, I wanted a better spinnerbait combo. This is what I landed on.

Abu Garcia Revo Winch left handed

iRod Genesis III - Stone Cold Swim and Vibrating Jig Rod

Just bought, pics to come later. The reel may be overkill but I really really wanted one of those winches.

These things are magic on a shaky head jig.  Try to find ones with the smallest screw heads.  I can't remember if I have the ones from VMC or BPS.  I also like Spot Remover jigs as well.

Ollie’s, a discount store chain in Connecticut, recently got a decent amount of fishing gear. Picked up 10 Lucky Craft lures for $6.99 each.

Finally after 5 stores I found a place that carries cutter worms ? I am so happy ! The place had a good selection of different colors than I normally see and different plastics that I haven’t seen around my normal stores. I can’t ever recall seeing rage tail lizards or Yamamoto kut tail worms in stores near me.

Our ollies has crazy low prices on fishing stuff sometimes. Other times they don’t even have fishing stuff, but it’s worth a shot! My buddy gets shad raps for like $4.99 and $10 cast nets there

A good chunk of it yes, but the summer months and into fall I get an unbelievable opportunity to test gear down on the river 6 or 7 days a week, so I really try to make the absolute most of that opportunity, I really haven't got much need to buy new stuff, but it is fun for me, most of the paddletails are going to be a little experiment on action after smashing almost 20 fish in an hour and a half with a BioSpawn one last week, there is a good chance that I will burn through the majority of the non-BioSpawn ones by the end of the contract, the other stuff is either just extra heads that I know are going to get used up in the course of the summer, or some hard body swimbaits that I have decided to finally quit being as old fashioned about and start incorporating into my arsenal when the opportunity for giant fish presents itself.

Good to know about those biospawn baits, my buddy is on a constant search for another paddle tail bait

It's an anomalous event thusfar, but I tore through an entire pack in an hour and a half on the Columbia, managed to restore 4 out of that package with Mend-It this weekend to one degree or another, but I ordered a whole bunch more just to see if I can replicate it with any predictability.
