Got my Daiwa Fuego CT today. Stuck it on the brand new HMG. This new combo is my other reward* for returning the lost rod and reels (cost me $200) LOL! Gonna go try it in a few hours.

Now I gotta take a break from spending.

* first reward was knowing the 11 year-old owner got his rods back.

I wanted a sale on whatever rod I was going to get but nothing was in stock, or on sale. Looked hard to find this rod - of course now they're everywhere :) I got a bit of a deal on the reel. The eBay seller is sending me another $10 back for a reason, he doesn't have to but whatever. So ya just under $200. My most expensive setup to date. I hope the fish appreciate it.

Edit to add:

Just tried the combo. Great reel for me! Much nicer than my other garage sale special. Need to lube it though I think.

Made a couple extra bucks so treated the Bait Monkey to some new bling.....  A Steez CT SV TW.  I was able to get it from Japan cheaper than a US Metanium.  Arrived in 3 days.  Waiting on a Megabass p5 Bait Finesse to be in stock to pair with it.

I ordered the reel on Monday night last week and it arrived much faster than I expected so I was trying to find a rod during the week and contacted a few vendors that might carry the P5 Bait Finesse.  I found out it may not be available until December of this year.  Originally it was supposed to be the beginning of July.   I then made the mistake of reading about a place having the old NRX rods for $375.  When I found it,  I was debating between the old and the new NRX+ (I even started a thread).  I ended up ordering the old version of the NRX 802C.  I couldn't pass it up at that price.   I have a couple of NRX rods so at least I know what I am getting.   Also, I took the reel out for a test drive on Friday and today.  It is simply amazing.

I finally gave in and bought he Whopper Plopper  110 in bone which, not only catches fish, but a lot of fun to yell out during the cast….you know, so the bass know what’s for dinner.

Bought a booyah covert spinnerbait, and a booyah pad crasher, at walmart.  This is the second spinnerbait(excluding $1 bin spinnerbaits) that I've bought at walmart, that has a deformed head, ticks me off.

Cheers to a fantastic consolation rod!  I have an 852c with a PXLR and it’s the lightest, most sensitive combo I own.

The P5s in certain flavors got snatched up QUICK.  I just found a Tequila Baccarac recently and feel very fortunate to have been paying attention when I was.  I wish there was more feedback on the ICBM, that seems like such an interesting rod to me.

May not be deformed. There is intentionally more weight on one side of the head than the other on the booyah covert.

Ok, thanks.  I thought both sides had the cupped face, but this one has a cupped face and the other side looks like it got a little hot.

I can't reveal the source as they gave me good deal when I contacted them but they usually sell the 6.x:1 for $420.  The faster speeds are higher.

After fishing it for a few days and a tournament on Sunday,  I'm starting to change my mind about the Antares 70A being the best I have fished.  I wouldn't use it for big baits but everything else, it's fantastic.   Looking at it, I wouldn't think it was much different than the SV TW version but it is smoother and cast lighter baits further.  My only complaint is the drag.  It starts slowly and then tightens up.  My guess this is better on the reel when using braid.  I am about 20 fish into this reel so we will see what happens.

I should have it tomorrow and wanted it for the weekend. But went against my belief of never buy a rod or reel without seeing or touching it first.

Bought a BPS Pro Qualifier 2 Spinning Reel. 2000 w/ 5.0 ratio and fairly low recovery. About 26” pt. Have a half decent soft tip Falcon crankbait rod for it.

Might be a keeper. Should work out ok. But, was trying to be cheap. Time will tell. I throw slot of smaller Shad Raps and DT’s. Lower ratio and recovery was what I was after.

Nice score! I have been eyeing some of their jigs lately but haven’t pulled the trigger just yet.

Have 3 Fuegos that see most of my bait cast work. Solid reels for the $. I did have to lube one of them out of the box since it felt dry. Now if FedEx would show up with the Tatula 100 I ordered, I will be a happy man. Only problem is I may fall in love with it and want to upgrade all my reels…

Mine could use a lube too I noticed. But it's very smooth compared to what I'm used to, and it casts so nice. Not even a hint of backlash. Still tuning it - and still learning how to tune it, but ya it's cool. Or Hot I should say ;)

I have used Curado's for years. I needed to get my yearly upgrade and decided on this one. I have never owned a Cronarch and look forward to seeing what it can do.
