Not a big buy, but needed a new squarebill as I increase my crankbait selection. Picked up a 6th Sense Crush 3/8 oz. in Tipped Crawfish. Only dives 3’-5’, which should be good for the ponds I fish. Also saw Senkos in watermelon/cream laminate (#901) that looked good. And I always need Gammy 3/0 EWG hooks.

That's a cannot fail purchase.  I like that crank color.  Those baby bass senkos are pretty good, and always work.

Went to wal mart for special sun glasses for bed fishing.  Left with some finesse spinnerbaits and a couple buzzbaits.1658859474_FullSizeRender(4).thumb.jpg.cddd80e7c40fd5eb49b3eb364b45a520.jpg

How does a spinnerbait end up in the finesse category ? Is it for dead sticking? Haha

Nothing special, believe it or not a 3/0 works just fine on the big one, it looks huge but it’s really not much thicker than a  5” senko.

While this may not look like a fishing purchase, I grabbed a 10’ 2” PVC pipe that was cut and washed into 17 7” sections to be put in my 3700 bag. I like the larger PVC because it just holds more baits than the smaller PVC tubes in the bag.

Needed a few reel parts, and started a cart at Plat.  Best place I know for schematics and parts, and JDM lists divided spool parts you can only see on US schematics and parts sources as a complete spool assy.

I always look for good stuff, lures, especially finesse, and tools to round out my order and make my FedEx charge worthwhile.

hSj8e8x.jpg

Includes some tiny salt-resistant split rings I need, and really trick Smith split-ring tweezers for the fine stuff.  Also some tiny salt jigheads you can only find in Japan.

In lures, I added Tackle House Rolling plugs and Moovy plastic bodies.

Tackle House is top shelf (Megabass makes larger version rolling plugs), and I've also had good luck with TetraWorks lures.

Zm2pEMh.jpg

The Movvies have a notch that forms a swimming plug lip on your jighead.

You can install them between fast (retrieve or current) and slow.

Borrowed this Plat video for Movvy,

and another for the amazing action of the Tackle House rolling plug (will probably swap those size 14 trebles for size 6 singles), and the 4.5-g lure (or should I say 70-gr)  is a virtual bullet for BFS.

have some Z-man Neds arriving today, and a salt shad body color I was down to my last.

ok, here's the rest

and this is too cool - I've never been able to work #1 and #0 split rings before.

With the Smith split ring tweezers, they just glided.

General question: When is the next big industry sale? We’ve got the Black Friday through Christmas sales but when else can we get things off full MSRP?

Specifically, I want to buy a Expride 7’3 and a Daiwa Tatula Elite BC.

Posted

Three packs of sweet beavers, three packs of skinny dippers, two packs of speed worms and 1 pack of quiver 6.5 and one pack of hooks.

First of a few orders coming in. The monkey is feasting as I build up my tackle box after 15 or so years away from fishing.

All of these baits look great!

If you want your Rick Clunn stx jerkbait to suspend, you gotta put suspend dots/strips on it. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/search-tackle.html?start=0&count=30&searchtext=suspend+dots

They are really fast floaters, at least mine is anyway.

Sadly, I was bitten by the bait monkey this week. Now that I'm kayak fishing on a big lake and not bank fishing small lagoons I'm finding the need to expand my arsenal a little bit.

I started off with some Strike King Red Eye lipless crank baits. I got the natural bream in both 3/4 oz and 1/2 and bluegill in 1/2 oz.

I love fishing chatterbaits and usually stick with the original and elite chatterbaits, but this time I said, "What the heck?" and splurged on a Jackhammer in green pumpkin shad. I also bought Cabela's Fisherman Series Go-To Swim 5" Minnow in the Alewife color for a trailer.

The temperature was still in the mid 90's after work today and I just didn't feel like heading out on my kayak in that heat (pulling it back up the long hill to the hotel is killer) so I fished off our docks for half an hour after work. I did land a small 1 pounder on that new Jackhammer combo.

It's going to be HOT this week so I expect a lot of bass will finally start moving under the docks. I finally took a look at the lake maps and although my end of teh lake is fairly shallow, but I found some dropoffs and some deeper water on the maps, including some near docks and some points. Time to get at it if I can withstand the heat.

Oh - I also bought a Hawg Trough just in case I can find some kayak fishing tournaments around here.

What is wrong with them?  I wanted to get some but if they aren't any good, I'll stay away.  I've got the strike king swimming worms.

I didn't mean it that way..I was saying if you went for a pack of speed worms and spent $40 but forgot to get the worms that would be funny..I've done that before
