Well I’m sure that would work but that won’t help the never caught one with a Texas rig problem ...........

ive fished those zoom worms my whole life and never knew they floated

They are advertised as the first floating worm, but in all honesty they very seldom actually float. Some of them will suspend slightly. It depends on how much salt they contain.  Most will slowly sink. I have fished trick worms, since they were introduced. They are a great worm , but if I am looking for a true floater they are not my first choice.

Geez 2 days since anyone received a tackle order? I got this one yesterday was a small gift card I needed to burn up. I had completely forgot what I ordered except for the swivels, so it was like Christmas when I opened it yesterday. ?

I would love if I could place orders in November and schedule them for delivery in March. It would be like buying presents for future me!

It's a pain waiting - placed an order for a Fury 703SF when Legacy had their 25% off sale before BF. Still waiting for them to get the rod in stock and ship it to me.

Well, at least your lakes are unfishable. The wait would be much worse if it were the warm season. If I order a rod in December, I don't really care how slow the shipping is. If I order a rod in May, then the ludacris overnight shipping costs seem like a reasonable expense, lol.

see, you started something.

My 3-g XUL lures and some good braid for a surf reel

RU1Jz38.jpg

all heavy sinking, freshwater trout lures, while some have stainless hooks, all have light wire.

Will end up replacing the bronze and light wire hooks with good salty hooks, like the spoon, and the 50 mm crankbait on the bottom.

Winter is a great time for tinkering tackle - especially the blow that's coming this weekend.

I finally bought some braid suitable for a spinning reel. 8lbs Berkley X9. Also bought a chatterbait. I'm broke, so I just buy something occasionally.

Added a couple of what I'd call more subtle patterns, to the box.

Yes Sir ~ one of my favorite approaches in fact.

And that Pro Bone color (tan back bait)

Has a sweet iridescent sidewall thing going on that didn't come through in my pic.

Might be able to see it better here

Glad to see people getting shipments. I have an order in with Tackle Direct since Dec 30th that is "moving within the USPS network". Still has like 2 more stops before it gets shipped to my state. Then it's wait and see when it get's delivered.

Nothing you can do except wait I guess.

BTW: Tackle Direct---ACES!

It's been hit & miss for me too.

Had an order that arrived at a USPS office from a vendor on 17 NOV and I got it last week.

Another one was initially shipped on 17 Dec - got that one today !

Must be something about the 17th  . . . .

Decent chance TW is getting a fair amount of Stimulus business.

But if you use it to buy baby chickens

You'll get your money for nothing

and your chicks for free !

Tatula Elite 100HSL(189.99) and a Tatula 6'3 MFB(129.99)to put it on.

I am SUPER excited, as I feel like I got a solid deal on both.

Guessing it has more to do with the Covid situation. Took a long time to get 2 spools of 10 lb fireline and a jerkbait shipped out. Guessing they are running with very limited staff.

There is a stimulus? We didn't get our original checks for like 6 months, if there was another one we may see it in time for the memorial day sale if lucky?

I'm sure every online retailer is affected except for maybe Amazon.  I highly doubt people are using their stimulus to buy fishing tackle from TW unless you are specifically referring to the crowd on this website.

The good news is that its winter.  So some of us have nothing but time.  If I was waiting on lures and reels and rods in June, that would drive me crazy.

There's been absolutely no updates on my package up until yesterday. This morning I looked and voila, out for delivery. Should be at my house when I get home.

And BTW, when did you go all Dire Straits gangster on this post? This little ditty wasn't OG on that post.

Haven't bought much lately, but treated myself to couple purchases with some of my tournament win monies.

I received my Shimano Vanford last week from TW BF sale. It's the first time I invested in a good spinning reel because I would rarely use spinning gear, but I'm sure I will be using it a lot more now. I've always wanted a Ci4+, but never could pull the trigger, but the Vanford seemed like a no brainer.

It's going to go on a Custom NFC X-Ray MB-733 that I just built specifically for the Vanford, with red wrapping and a red custom decal that matches the reel.

One thing I was puzzled by was the set of washers that was in the box. I seen it says they are used to create a different winding shape, but I have no clue what difference that makes.

Nice! What reel model is that?

The washers go under the spool to raise it up in relation to the bail, so that the line winds evenly when you reel in.

Ought to be a diagram where to put them in the little manual that comes with it.

I just went through spool shimming exercise over the last couple of days - honking big new surf reel, though. Matching with an 11' H Tsunami Air Waves, for throwing 2-oz spider weights on a bait rig.

vtERm4k.jpg

See how the initial wind trial doesn't go to the bottom of the spool?

BP69Ofg.jpg

If I kept going, it would bulge and stack up at the front end of the spool, and wouldn't quite fill.

Your new Vanford is much easier to shim than this surf reel - Tica Samira, who also make this same reel as the Surf Pro for Daiwa.  (Heck of a buy for 1/3rd the price of the Daiwa - I don't mind shimming.)

I had to remove the fiber-composite washer from its detente in the spindle, 2 spool BB and spacer, and click-spring to install my shims.

uZaxpj1.jpg

Great result with 315 yds 35-lb X-braid

UNl7IpT.jpg

The reel also has a cool drag feature.  The center knob attaches the spool and sets the max drag.  The outer drag adjustment will back off from there and instantly return to your max set point.  It works like a lever drag.

Uca5T7o.jpg

Save those Shimano spool shims - they will be solid gold for you.  I've swapped braided lines on two of my Stradics, and both needed shimming the second time to get good braid lay.  Yours will simply pop into place after you remove the spool.

You should have two thickness shims, two of each - call them shim and half-shim.  I had to use 1-1/2 on both of my high-use Stradics to spool them the 2nd time (each).  A new Vanford will be properly shimmed from the factory.  But they will compress with use, and you'll need them later.

So will I need to install one, two, or all now, or just wait and see how it's retrieving first before installing any of them?
