Black Friday indeed. Should change it to Broke Friday actually. This is not even including the $300 bait that I bought earler in the day ?

Jason, how about a review on the Tatula 300 once you use it for awhile. Contemplating grabbing one.

I swear I need to give up this hobby. It just costs so dang much. In the spring/summer/fall I'm busy fishing. In the winter I get my fishing fix by buying and buying and buying...even tho I already have enough stuff to hold me over for years to come. But there's nothing better than coming home from work and seeing that brown box on your doorstep that UPS dropped off. Christmas for adults.

Anyways, here's my first 2 Black Friday orders so far. First from Omnia Fishing. Second one from TW.

I have come to the point where I enjoy seeing a rod/reel combo or the bait someone is using more than a 4 lb bass picture.  I definitely enjoy someone posting their TW order more than a fish.  Thanks.

Should have this guy either Monday or Tuesday.  It will be going on a custom 6' L 4-8 fiberglass blank from Ameriglass.  I haven't decided which color scheme I'm going to go with on the rod, but so far I'm leaning towards that vintage raw fiberglass look with dark red thread for the guides and a burled maple reel seat with stainless accents and cork grip.

I'm in my mid-40's. You should see me when new baits arrive. I quickly open that new crankbait and just hold it and fondle it for a good 3 minutes as if I just opened a new G.I Joe action figure on Christmas morning back in 1983. ?

I feel ya brother!  I'm the kind of guy that takes a reel on the crapper and plays with it instead of my cell phone lol

No problem. I guess I can spool it up and slap it on my current rod lol. My intentions were to just let it collect dust lol I only bought it now because I was able to get it under retail. It’s actually suppose to go on a custom swimbait rod I’m not expecting for a bit lol.

I hear that. I love seeing others' pics of tackle, rods and reels, as well as catches. I call it fish porn.

Bought a Lews TP1 Black. Should be coming in any day now! Gonna pair it with a BB1 Pro.

What model did you get? I bought the 7'2" 'jig rod' on a whim near the beginning of fall and love it! It just feels right. I mostly had a swim jig tied on it. I usually fish my swim jigs on my Megabass Orochi, but I kept finding myself grabbing the Lew's over the Orochi. Now I'm not saying it's better than the Orochi or anything crazy like that. But man, there's just something about it that makes it really fun to fish.

I love rods like that when no matter what else is on deck, you always reach for it because it just feels right.

For that reason, my2  powell 723 rods will be hard to replace.

In another note, what did you think of your powell 725 frog rod this season?  Mine out some work in and landed 2 of my 5 biggest of the year.

It took some time to get used to tbh lol. I’m not the tallest person in the world (I’m only 5’7) so a stick that long and stiff it took a while to get the positioning and working it comfortably correct from the bank. I did manage to land a couple solid fish with the biggest being a 5. So I’m glad I stuck with it.

I got the 7’ MH fast.
It was between the TP1X and the Dobyns Fury. My better half would only allow one  so it’s the Lew’s now and the Dobyns for Christmas...or next week ?

The TP1 Black, rather. Why the names are so close even though they use a different blank is beyond me.

The grips feel amazing to fish with. Easily my favorite.

Picked up some swimbaits and a PB rat plus a couple LV's with an underspin I've always wanted to try.

Dude - I'm over 60 and the wife snickers at me when something comes in from a tackle-shop cause I get so excited.

I may grow old, but I refuse to grow up....

I wandered in to a local tackle shop yesterday just to browse. Had a package of Roboworms and a Jewel swim jig. Was content with those two items and got to the rod racks. What are these new rods they have? They are the Lew's KVD series. Oh wow, they have the 6'8" jerkbait rod. Well by golly, it looks pretty nice, I better get it. Pay for my now three items, get to the truck and think, "I wonder if they had the matching reels?". Back inside I go. Sure enough, they have them. Ask the dude if they have the 7.5:1. He digs around and by golly they do. Alrighty then, reckon the new rod needs it! I didn't think to take a picture of the new setup but it looks real nice. I'll try to take a picture after work today and add to this post.

Here's a couple pictures of the new Lew's KVD setup.

In order to keep myself from doing something truly stupid, like plundering my new 2020 Daiwa Zillion fund, I slipped into F&S just 8 minutes before closing on Black Friday. Our local F&S has a huge selection of jammin' goodies, and 25% off is intoxicating, so self governing using the no-time-to-shop method saved me from myself. I couldn't wait on TW and the Omen Black 3 7'3" MF that I really wanted, so I grabbed this Fury 733c instead for my new Vapor. It's a nice and light combo that balances nearly perfectly.

*What applications / techniques do you plan to use this new combo for ?

Neds, flukes, small swimmers, finesse jigs, jerk baits, small cranks, etc. I have a few local spots with flats that allow me to wade out a few hundred feet, and trudging back to shore to change rigs during winter kinda sucks, so I wanted a light bait, versatile, do-all combo. Actually, I already have that covered several times over, but I like to try different things, and I'm digging Quantum's braking profile for slinging baits for distance. It suits my casting stroke and style.

Well, it's that time of the year. Here's my Christmas treat for myself. Compared to last year, I did not purchase much during the black friday sales. Only thing left to buy for next season is some terminal tackle; flipping weights, tube inserts, round jigheads. As you can see, I definitely love my XZone and my Rage Tails lol. Most excited about the 6" Deception Worm in Electric Shad. Looks like a killer color.

This just came in yesterday, very impressed with the fit and finish.  Hopefully I'll get to throw it a few times before the water ices over.

How does the size compare to other round reels? I love round reels and thought about getting one but wasn't sure about the size compared to my other reels. I like smaller reels.
