Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 17, 2020 Global Moderator Posted November 17, 2020 In my continued search to find a replacement for Uncle Josh pork, my newest contender. Not exactly what I'd hoped for out of the package, but going to give them a shot. 6 Quote

MarkG52 Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 I wandered in to a local tackle shop yesterday just to browse. Had a package of Roboworms and a Jewel swim jig. Was content with those two items and got to the rod racks. What are these new rods they have? They are the Lew's KVD series. Oh wow, they have the 6'8" jerkbait rod. Well by golly, it looks pretty nice, I better get it. Pay for my now three items, get to the truck and think, "I wonder if they had the matching reels?". Back inside I go. Sure enough, they have them. Ask the dude if they have the 7.5:1. He digs around and by golly they do. Alrighty then, reckon the new rod needs it! I didn't think to take a picture of the new setup but it looks real nice. I'll try to take a picture after work today and add to this post. 3 1 Quote
Super User PhishLI Posted November 26, 2020 Super User Posted November 26, 2020 I've been so impressed by how solid and smooth the now discontinued ICON PTs have been for me that I just had to try the newer Vapor PT due to it's heavily ported super light spool at 11.4 grams, sans bearing. They're essentially the same reel otherwise. The Vapor will get the standard lube job including Shimano ACE on the gear set. If it works out the way I hope it'll go on a 13 Omen Black 3 7'3" MF, and I'll be slinging light baits into the stratosphere. We'll see! 5 Quote

Dens228 Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 I just went all crazy at the TW sale........First time in awhile without a rod or reel purchase. I reviewed my order and it was pretty much restocking.......line, plastics, terminal tackle, jigs.....I added a couple spinnerbaits. All in all kind of a boring order......lol 1 Quote
aPaul19 Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Had no intentions of doing it going into the winter but I caved and grabbed a Curado DC. Actually hoping I hate it so I don’t get the itch to buy more... 1 1 Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted November 27, 2020 Super User Posted November 27, 2020 Argh..Waited a bit to long to order my Irod Gen II 7' heavy rod. Now back ordered until Dec. 16. Rats.......... Quote
Eric 26 Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Just pulled the trigger on a Okuma 7’-3” TCS looking at the 7’-2” med-hey EVX B... anybody using either of these two rods/series? 1 Quote
Junk Fisherman Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 TW got me for $150 or so. Gamma Edge 6 and 10 for leaders. Gamma Touch 7 lb for small swimbaits Fins 50 lb braid YGK Soul braid 14 lb A bunch of X Zone Slammers and a couple bags of Berkley Max Scent dropshot baits. So not real exciting but I did pick up a Daiwa Steez rod a couple weeks ago and I'll pick up a Tatula when the shirt promotion is launched in the spring. 2 Quote
GTN-NY Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Sat on hold for about 10 min but it was worth it to price match basspro for a Garmin Striker 7CV $299. Got a few sets of hooks, line and sinkers also. This was my first Black Friday with TW 2 Quote
NoShoes Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Grabbed a pedal tray and fish finder mount for the front of the boat. Not as shiney as the new rod I wanted, but probably a better decision. 2 Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted November 28, 2020 Super User Posted November 28, 2020 I swear I need to give up this hobby. It just costs so dang much. In the spring/summer/fall I'm busy fishing. In the winter I get my fishing fix by buying and buying and buying...even tho I already have enough stuff to hold me over for years to come. But there's nothing better than coming home from work and seeing that brown box on your doorstep that UPS dropped off. Christmas for adults. Anyways, here's my first 2 Black Friday orders so far. First from Omnia Fishing. Second one from TW. 7 1 Quote

I quickly open that new crankbait and just hold it and fondle it for a good 3 minutes as if I just opened a new G.I Joe action figure on Christmas morning back in 1983. ? 5 1 Quote
