Ogandrews Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 well I picked up two new setups yesterday. I was really hoping to get out on the water this weekend but being on call I ended up working all day. Managed to get an hour off in-between calls and went to my local scheels. Both are g loomis IMX pros, one is a 892 7’5” M XF and the other 853 7’1” MH XF. IMX pros are slowly starting to take over my rod arsenal, really a big fan of how solid and powerful they feel while still being sensitive and light. 892 is going to be mostly used for shaky heads, 3-4” swimbaits on light wire hooks, rage menace/chigger craw on a ball head for river smallies, anything finesse really. The 853 is going to be an all around finesse to mid sized jig rod, jerkbaits for pike with heavier wire trebles, and whatever else in that normal wire hook category. Both are paired with a curado DC, 892 has 30lbs maxcuatro and the 853 has 40lbs. Don’t mind the mess on my boat, since coming home from a week long trip up north it has become a work bench in my garage. I’ve had 9 different plumbing calls since I got “done” with work on Friday night, if I’m going to have to work all weekend at least I have something cool to look forward to playing with when I get home. At least that’s what the monkey told me, feels like he’s getting stronger every week. 1 Quote

I had 4 gigantarels...and that's honestly a bait that is too big and awkward for me to have 4 - I whittled it down to 2. I also got rid of all the live target soft baits I had - honestly think they are hot garbage. Also canned the swaver 200 because it is probably the worst swimming glide bait in eternity. I also have another bait coming if that makes the monkey happy - I traded 2 of my 8" rainbow hudds(had 6) for a DEPS 175... Quote

The cardboard looked like it was torn apart so I’m guessing it got caught in a conveyer belt turn It was fairly inexpensive and I bought it solely because you don’t find old school American made rods new with tags anymore. But of course the first ever damaged rod tube I’ve received was one that couldn’t be replaced lol Quote
thunderblack Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 Had this happen a few times. One was a cumulus rod that was like new. Even when you note 'do not convey' they still do and a nice tube can snap. Insurance is a must and so is PVC. Fish it. Might be totally fine. Quote

I'm still fishing it today with no issues. Hopefully yours will be fine. 1 Quote

Packages that big aren’t processed on belts. They’re manually processed. So more than likely someone was just careless with your package. Quote

Signed, curious in Kentucky Expand I am desperately trying to upsize my catches...and I do fish other waters but 99% of the bass I catch are less than 2 pounds. My PB last year was 8 lbs. This year we are sitting at 6 lbs. The thing is I only caught 4 fish last year over 3 lbs. This year only 2 so far. 1 Quote
