Dick's let you take the 25% off of a St.Croix rod? I'm jealous, they never let me.

They just scanned the coupon at the register and it worked.  I was wondering if it would.  Most of the time it doesn't. But you're right, I got lucky.

I also purchased 3 other St. Croix rods (2 Legend Elites and a Legend Glass) this way earlier this year.  I had them order them from the kiosk up front.  I got the discount, no questions asked.

I've found that not allowing any slack, or very little, with the bobbin in your other hand helps.

Stay away from swimbait universe. It's making me a swimbait crazy person

Ha! My brother found that page a few months ago. His goose was cooked once he caught his 1st 5 pounder on a Bull Wake. He now has 4 dedicated big bait setups. He's spent a staggering amount on baits. He can't stop.

I would have gone for the 600yd spool of the Hybrid for $1.40 more...but a nice little list none-the-less.

Aw man. I shoulda done that. I only use it on one rig, though, so hopefully what I got'll last me for a little while.

So stoked about that MB Speed Spool.

Kept inside, last forever on the filler-spool. I've got three rigs that I use YZH on...all different tests (4,10,12) but I get the 600yd spools when I'm running low.

I'd add some KVD L&L to that - makes all the difference with YZH

I'm still attached to Diawa, Pflueger and Mitchell...maybe on day I'll branch out to something else.

Yuuup. Discovered I can't live without L&L when I went to flouro on one of my rigs. That stuff is hateful when it gets a mind to be.

As far as the reel goes, I keep telling myself I'm gonna try something different. One of these days. I may switch it up when I finally break down and get a proper finesse setup.

I just have to learn to enjoy watching paint dry first.

^^^^^ Excellent choices in the Sweet Beaver colors. If you haven't tried it yet, give Low Blow a shot if those colors produce for you. Some days the flake in that color seem to help.

Looks like a good list there, NERD..(just in case no one else has caught that yet).

I went back and forth about a half dozen times between that and hematoma. As murky as the water usually is for me, it usually pays off for me to stay dark.

Magic craw swirl has been crushing for me this year, too.

It can be quite entertaining - catching a 2# LMB on my UL rigged with a Ned with 4# YZH makes for some fun times.

No doubt. Honestly, I don't give it enough of a chance. Every time I try, I'll fish something unweighted or super finesse like that for about 5 minutes before I just can't take it anymore.

Actually, that gives me an idea for a thread. BRB

Had to scratch that Gander itch one last time.  Wasn't much left but I did find a couple War Eagle finesse spinnerbaits and a buzzbait, and a cavitron for about $10.

I got rang up for about $60 worth of stuff at Gander last weekend. Not bad considering it was 60% off everything.

Lots of Senkos, Zoom craws and worms, and Berkley X5/9 braid.

Have you used these baits before? If so, what are your thoughts? I was eyeballing them a while back.

The bait monkey told me I needed to up my cold water arsenal with a couple things..... so of course I listened. The holiday sales at TW definitely made his point a little more valid.

I have the wood version that I purchased about 10 years back, but it is unusable today. Water had penetrated the wood where paint had worn off and the joint failed. It was a good bait before that and landed me some nice fish. I think this injected body is an upgrade in the right direction and I'm looking forward to using it. I watched this video after I received this newer version and I think I scored, thanks to @J._Bricker.

I watched this video a few nights ago (great review BTW), which reminded me of the bait. And then I saw your post. I think I'm gonna have to get one. Now I have to decide on what bluegill color.
