The Monkey bait is on my back ---- St. Croix will be having this sale ? if so, I just need a topwater mojo :)

Here is more info: https://stcroixrods.com/blogs/news/st-croixs-holiday-events

The 40% discount is for discontinued Mojo Bass Glass and Premier Crankbait rods. Unfortunately most Mojo rods will not be on sale.

I went to Cabelas today to look at some clothing.  I wasn't buying any tackle...

It all went downhill when I saw the Dark Sleepers.  I heard so many mentions of them so I thought I would try a few out...then remember I "needed" an ice rod for my Black Betty Freefall I got over the summer.  Sigh

Thought of getting that mojo ice rod for my kid who is only three weeks old :)

What's this, a rod tube sitting next to the front door? Yep, glass cranking sticks are back in.

Which model did you get?

7'2" Heavy. I had picked up a 7'2" Medium earlier in the year and am very pleased with how it performed. These are  not the glass rods we used back in the 70's and 80's, they are much lighter. After using these, I don't think I'll ever crank with composite again.

I didn't feed the monkey but my brother in law gifted me a 7' mh Shimano Zodias spinning rod last night. So the monkey showed up at my door step this morning yakking about a Tatula LT.

Croix's "sales" always suck. It's just them dumping outgoing models that nobody bought.

I have started to notice that.

I did get one of their "Reign" rods (which will also be on "sale") just to see how it was. It is the heaviest rod I have and will probably never use it just for that reason.

I picked up the 7'2'' M early this year as well.  I have been eyeballing the same rod just purchased too.  I think the 8'8''  Heavy would be too much and I have a 7'11 MH Crankbait rod so the 7'2'' may be the ticket.  These rods are truly something special though.

Better hurry, they only have 2 left.

So does that mean I should bypass a Mojo Glass CB rod at the discount and just go with my first choice which was a Tatula XT - which is the better rod?

I'd skip the mojo glass. I checked them out at cabelas when I was on the hunt for a CB rod. They where heavy, unbalanced, and it was as wide as my ring finger.  I saved for a month and got a dobyns glass rod. I also have their cranking composite, 765cb, and I like the glass a lot better. I paid $150 used on here for the 736cb glass. Winter time is the best time to buy used. If you wait a month you can get it for less than 150$.

My budget for a cranking rod is $125 max - so it'd be a Tatula-XT or a Fury as best bets.

That Oneten color looks ridiculously good. Ever since Hookup posted it on their FB page a week or two ago I've been doing my best to restrain myself from pulling the trigger. Love the extra detail on the belly too.

I fish a lot of lakes where smallmouth is a forage, so I told myself I needed it! Looks a lot like a smallie to me.

I will tell you one thing though, BUY respect colors you like because once they are gone they are gone forever.

Fury 705CB for sure, when I handled the XT I thought it was heavier.

Does anyone know anywhere else that have these in stock? The Hook Up is out of stock.

I've got a lot of those spinner baits, they go through wood like a hot knife through butter. Love em!
