Fantastic rods. I caught 2.5 pounder on 6’10” matched with Citica first time using.  Caught on a Mann’s Shadow.

Happy to get these after scouring the internet! I really like these rods and I know they’ll pair well with my new Curados.

Forgive my ignorance but what makes these such a hard find? Were they a limited run? An older model that is just hard to find now? Just curious.

@pauldconyers, I appreciate your question. The Crucial rod series was discontinued and replaced by the current Curado line of rods.  And I personally like the Crucial series for the techniques I want to use them.

So I bought this bandit root beer silent 200 series crankbait.  Before i headed north to fish on vacation.  Throw on the bandit and finally get on a decent small mouth crank bite.  Went back to the store and bought 3 more or 3 for 10 bucks. They were in a bin with a couple other color bandits, a lot fischous cranks, and some other not high dollar names

The Surplus store started getting heavy into fishing stuff right around the time  gander went belly up and I think they bought up some of the left over merchandise. Which, is good because they have the best selection of stuff within 30 miles. They are starting to get regular tackle in like Berkley havoc and z-man stuff but the majority of it is close out stuff from else where.  Never know what you may find and a lot of it.

Not purchased by me but by my wife for our anniversary later this month from my Amazon wish-list. I love my wife.

It's only a Hook2-4 - but considering I didn't even HAVE sonar before, this is a huge step up. The tablet holder to the right is for my Galaxy - which I have I-Boating's app on. That one tracks me via GPS on the contour maps, lets me set waypoints and even can record my trips - same functionality as what's on the more expensive sonar units equipped with Lakemaster or Navonics.

That blue-green stuff is self-stick foam to protect my rod's guides, butt ends of the rods are lashed down either side of the seat in back.

Nice, new toys sure are fun.

Rapala Sub-Walk.

 Very shallow running jerkbait deal.

These baits suspend at about 12-18 inches only -

This ones a real sleeper.

Father’s Day gift from my Mom and Dad. My Dad liked how it was packaged in a box with a rod sock. My Mom liked how it was on sale and with a coupon and credit from buying my son a bike last month she paid $33 for this $80 rod. She is a deal hunter after my own heart.

I was able to use it before the rain moved in today.

It paired well with my Lew’s Custom Pro spinning reel. Nice looking rod. It’s light as a feather and well balanced, no pun. It’s not as sensitive as I would have hoped and it has micro guides that I am not thrilled with. Overall though I am happy with it. It replaced my Denali AttaX rod which is way to much like a wet noodle to pair with my Custom Pro.

Out with my boys yesterday and went to Field & Stream to look at the wildlife displays. They had SK KVD stuff at "buy 3, get 1 free". Picked up 4 KVD 1.5 shallow crankbaits. The whole time, I'm saying to myself, "I don't even need these"....

After all the talk about Cavitron buzzbaits I pulled the trigger on a couple.

I bought about a dozen jigs from Bayou Bug Jigs when they ran their 50% sale awhile back. This is a swim jig.

Resized_20190617_212432.jpeg

Some finesse jigs.

Resized_20190617_212846.jpeg

A couple 3/4 football jigs.

Resized_20190617_213039.jpeg

Some flipping jigs.

I hit up a 20% of Fathers day sale for trailers and craws to be used on swim jigs and chatter baits in shad and bluegill colors . I also bought shad and blue gill Dirty Jigs Finesse Swim Jigs to try in 5/16th oz. *Did I need these things ? No , but they are a nice to have option as who can't use new jigs & trailers ? ... I just hope the shipment arrives  before my wife returns  home from visiting her relatives !!

Decided to get some sidescan finally. Entry level unit, but should be good enough to cut my teeth on.

Bought the exact same model this week! Have taken it out twice so far and it seems nice. Being my first unit like this it is a lot to take in and play with but I like the possibilities.

Bought a whopper plopper. Thought my big rod could handle it but it's only rated up to 1 oz. Now the search is on for a new rod. And then of course I'll need a reel for that. This bait monkey is vicious...

Geez, did you buy a WP 190 or something? Or throw it on a Walmart Barbie rod?

It's the 130. It's a 7 ft medium heavy but only rated to 1 oz lures. It seems to throw it fine but the rods are rated for a reason right?

The 130 is only 1-3/8 oz...long as you don't try to put it into orbit, that MH rod should handle it. It's when you try to load the rod for max distance that the ratings need to be adhered to...lobbing casts would be fine on what you have.

I suggest watching plenty of videos on how to interpret sidevu and downscan. Quickdraw maps are golden, especially for people like me who fish tinnnyyy lakes that are never on maps.
